Oh, Stude - Merry Christmas!

scrooge is classic stuff. i like grinch too.

I watched the Grinch last night. Love that dog, Max. ^_^

We are going to the Nutcracker Ballet tomorrow night. I've never seen it, so this should be awesome.

Yeah, of all people, Dr. Seuss was horrified at the commercialism of Christmas. Thus came about the Grinch Who Stole Christmas and the holiday has never been the same since, LOL!:p;) I always felt sorry for Max. Having to draw that enormous sledge all the way up that mountain. Sadly, though they did a wondrous job on the Jim Carey version, they still missed the real reason for the day. But I suppose that's asking too much. Likewise with the latest version (Carey again) of A Christmas Carol. There is one line that Christmas Present says, "...most importantly the Child born in Bethlehem..." or something along that line (it's been thirty years since reading it, after all). This of course was left out. Kind of like Aslan's line at the end of Prince Caspian, "You are born of the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve. That's enough to erect the head of the meanest beggar in pride, and bow the head of the greatest king in shame. Be content," which apparently Disney felt was going a bit too far. So, we have these great stories with even greater messages that the film industry is working hard to remove the message from. wha-da-ya-do?

Hope you have a great time at the Ballet, Sis. The Nutcracker really is a treat. What a wondrous imagination that little girl has!:D

Had our first snow yesterday. Wow - lots of accidents. You would think Michiganders would have been ready for this.

i guess it takes a while to get out of "summer driving mode", LOL....we haven't had our first "real snow" yet this season, but i know when it does decide to show up, there'll be a lot of fender benders - people forgetting how far away to start stopping, and to not travel so close to the car in front of you.....goes with the territory, ^_^

matt - i just LOVE "the grinch song"!! thank you for posting that, it always brings a smile to my face!!

Yeah, thanks Matt. It was worth taking the half-an-hour to download.^_^

George is stuck on I-90 south-west of Buffalo. The news says they still haven't cleared it. Most of the problems seem to be with the idiots who self-destructed.

Coffee anyone? Looks like the kitchen has been empty for a couple of days. Perhaps if I serve some of my chocolate Christmas cookies...... :)
Let my coffee boil down till it's more pungent. :) Then I'll have a cup. Those crazy Brits that visited us wanted coffee rather than tea. They're a disgrace to the Union Jack. :)

LOL, this reminds me of Quickdraw McGraw's coffee.:D^_^:D^_^ He used to cut it from the pot with scissors!:D^_^:D^_^ It would wiggle in the cups like Jello and Babba-looie couldn't even sugar it, LOL!:D^_^:D^_^:D^_^

I'll put the kettle on, Luv, if it's all right. It's been Celestial Seasoning's Morning Thunder lately. The stuff isn't as potent as it used to be. Used to actually give me the shakes! Talk about a rush, LOL!:D:p Not any more though. The stuff does help prop open the eyelids all-the-same.;)

All the best, Tanj. Been there, done that, never again, thank you.;) Too old and grouchy anyway.

Nice to find someone else shuffling around the kitchen.;):p

We have an infestation of stupidity today. I'd call it Bellnoble. Stay out of the thread by this person if you don't want to be offended as that's the idiot's intent. After all, this is why we have April fool's day, right?;)
