Yea right now I feel like I have sunburn on my face/hot flashes. Either I really am having hot flashes or it's my sinuses (and like I said...I've already had sinus headaches the past couple days). I feel fine otherwise. It's a really weird sensation.

Oh that drives me nuts!! I have to put on cold wash clothes when my face feels like that, and it's usually my sinuses. I feel your pain...literally!

Because of dogs like Sheba, Jim, they sell kennels with wire roofs and floors. How do I know? I used to have six of them. Flat-Coat Retrievers are notorious escape artists, as are Bassetts.

Speaking of funny dog stories... I was working out in the front yard of my previous home one afternoon when I heard Nana barking her head off behind the house. So, going to investigate, I rounded the corner of the house and came upon a bear abusing my trash cans. Nana had her head and shoulders out the dog-door on the house's back door dis-abusing the bear quite loudly. Yogi was ignoring her completely and thankfully ignored me as well. I ran around the house and dragged my doofy dog back through the back door and put the security barrier down on the Dog-Door. Yogi used to visit us about once a month. I was really seriously considering getting a rifle for the first time in my life. He was a really BIG bear!

Well, I just saw two very adorable kittens. A brother and sister and enjoyed watching them interact. I know our cat would not tolerate a couple of kitties around, but they were fun to watch.

Had to take our cat to the vet as he has had a lump on his back that got bigger. The vet was not able to get anything to come out of the cyst looking bump, but also felt it was a benign tumor from an oil gland. Didn't advise doing anything about it unless it double in a very short time. I couldn't believe it, we took him out of the carrier so the vet could examine him and he just cooperated. Putting him back in the carrier, he growled. He is 11 years old and this was the first time I ever heard him growl. He is a most spoiled cat too.

Motel 6, Matt, is your best friend when travelling with pets. They were always very welcoming to Nana and myself. As to one's relatives; I've always had the philosophy of, 'love me love my dog.' All the same, with a dog as well behaved as Nana, that was very easy. Everybody loved her. Even people who professed a fear of dogs, loved her. She was just that way.

Okay, okay... here's yet another doofy dog story:

Nana was just short of a year old when I was sweeping the kitchen and diningroom floor one day. She was sleeping under the table when she awoke and saw me with the broom. Nana scooted out of the room with a yelp of terror and hid behind the couch. I coaxed her out and showed her the broom wasn't going to hurt her. She would sniff it, but still wasn't buying my line here. Nana loved to play tug-of-war and growlie dog with old towels, old boots too. Something she never grew out of. Anyway, I wrapped the broom with a ragged old towel and started playing with her that way. She took the bait and attacked the broom! After pulling the towel off she attacked the brush and found it didn't hurt her back. From then on, Nana always thought brooms were tons of fun! LOL, sometimes I had to lock her out of the kiitchen when I was sweeping.^_^ Then she'd lay on the other side of the diningroom door and (with her nose crammed under the door) bark at the broom.^_^ It cost me a couple of brooms (thankfully the cheap kitchen type), but she was worth it.:)

Neat story about Nana Stude :)

I have a couplem more about our Lab Sheba.

When we first got her I used one small section of the very large barn for her to sleep in. I would put her in there and then close the door at night.

Well one night we had a nasty thunderstorm and she got tickled by a lightening bolt. It put her into hysterie bad. In fact every time the clouds would appear like an imposing storm for the rest of her she would work herself into a frenzie, frothing at the mouth and just going completely crazy.

After trying unsucessfuly many times to calm her, which I went out and held her while a storm was front was approaching, but that didn't do anything except keep her from harming herself. I mean she really went nuts.

Finally we alwasy brought her in the house and right up into the kitchen and would hold her, close the drapes so she couldn't see the lightening. I suppose this helped and it at least kept her safe from harm.

We also took her on all our camping and hunting trips. Some years later we were on a fishing trip in Canada a 150 or so miles north of The Soo Locks. One afternoon a bad storm came in and we had her in our tent. Again she went nuts and we had all we could do to hold her down. My son would hold her for a while then I would take a turn. She wore uis both out.

But she was very dearly loved pet. We still talk about her antics all the time.

I had the girls over the weekend, ended up with a new puppy yesterday and my oldest granddaughter got sick last night with a stomach virus or flu. They went home today.
Here's the new puppy, her name is Oreo, I asked both girls what they wanted to name her, the oldest said Oreo, the youngest said Susan. LOL

i don't know if anybody here is a fan of josh groban - but if you go to this site: Josh Groban | Facebook you can do a "first listen" before his new album "illuminations" drops on tuesday.....

all i can say is....sigh.....

I could listen to him sing all day. I bought the soundtrack to Troy just because he sang on it. Will definitely be purchasing this!

Back from Frankenmuth. We had a great time. Bronner's is something else. I've never seen so much Christmas stuff in one place. We bought a couple of beautiful ornaments. I think I need to go through all my ornaments and get rid of some.

What I love about Frankenmuth is that I could go there in the SUMMER and get ornaments and stuff! I miss living so close to there. We visited there in the summer and met up with some good friends, which was cool, and ate at the Bavarian Inn. Yumm. The boys really liked it, too.

I missed telling kitty stories? Oh man! LOL I sure hope everyone's kitties and puppies are well!

Oreo is a great name but, I'm a proponent of naming "pets" with human names because they're part of the family. Of course, Willow has the nickname of Beaner but that's because I used to call her my little beanie baby when she was a teeny 13 wk old kitten...she was only 1/2 a lb!

Aibrean? I didn't realize we lived so freaking close to one another! I'm in Goshen, about 45 minutes south of you. Actually I'll be heading up to Ross this weekend to visit my birthmom and birth sisters.

Well, another eventful week has rushed by at break-neck pace. A mechanic friend has been here all week working on Paula's truck. He's had a rough time of it as Toyotas are very complex vehicles. This one is particularly annoying.

Also, an acquaintance from Church has lost her battle with Cancer and is dying at home. Her husband has become quite the guard dog. I've been praying for her over the past two years. Praying for a healing miraculous or otherwise. Aparently the answer was,'no'. I'm rather hoping the answer to the request for minimal suffering and a quick end will be yes.
