Convertibles are so much fun, but it's one time when it sucks being a girl.

When Mr. Flipper had his T-tops I kept a scarf in the car. I know it looked goofy, but it worked.

For the back of the motorcycle, I'm still working on preventing helmet hair.

Ah yes, horseflys, nasty little buggers. I used to be able to take those off my horses with a carriage whip without even bothering the horse. Ah, the happy horse and carriage days...

I was sent the following in an e-mail recently. It was, in fact, part of a chain letter which I promptly deleted. Still, the little parable was interesting. Perhaps you might enjoy it:

A Holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said,

I still can't figure out what the problem is with all this code showing up when I try to quote a post, but it definately has something to do with Internet Explorer 8. I tried to uninstall it and replace it with IE7 (which I had before) but then I couldn't post anything at all. The automatic updater reinstalled IE8 and while I'm now able to post again, I still get all this code.A wise man once said to me, "Windows is great... til you use it."
Apparently I need to insert code to put spaces between lines. This is ridiculous!

I was having similar problems on another forum where they kept changing formats. The one they finally stuck with gave my browzer the wonkos and drove me around the twist. Suffice it to say, I don't visit there any more.

Revrand, your browzer is tied to the version of your operating system. When you updated it (the browzer) it updated your operating system. Now M.S. will keep you at 8.0 whether you like it or not. Good old Microsoft, ya gotta love 'em. There's days when I wish Apple hadn't been so propriatory and stupid. Then perhaps they might have given Microsoft a run for their money. As it is, they are all that keeps M.S. out of court.

One thing you might try is to turn your system back several weeks, or months. It will ditch all upgrades and software additions. Set the reset date to the day before you originally installed 8.0. It might or might not work.

Yeah, Tanj, I'd like to get rid of the Italics in the quotes also. However, VBulletin just works that way.

The only problem with that is that I reformatted the hard drive, so there is nothing to go back to. It just must be that CF doesn't work with IE8 on XP.
It works fine with my office computer that runs Vista and IE8. Strange.

I think I discovered the problem. I had to add this website to the Compatibility View list. Apparently CF is not compatible with IE 8. The Compitability View allows web sites designed for older versions of the browser work in IE 8.

All the functions work now... and no annoying code is showing up in quoted posts.

Now back to our regularly scheduled kitchen programming.

I have to have my gallbladder out. Just found out yesterday. I'm tired of having these attacks. Anyone had this surgery? How did it go for you?

Yes I have had this surgery Seajoy. Mine was the lap surgery which is the three tiny incisions. It went well. About a week of soreness and stiffness, though I was doing many things before that time. Mine came out the Wednesday of Holy Week that year and I had company for Easter.

Did I mention that I did partake in a coffee ceremony while in Ethiopia and actually liked the coffee? I did have to put some raw sugar in it, but I was able to drink it without cream. That's huge for me because I can't stand coffee.

One of our "it's funny now" stories. On our shopping day we were on our way back and one of the families had our fan stop at a coffee shop and all the men (why only the men I'm not sure) all got out to go buy some coffee to take back. I asked Mr. Flipper to get a couple of bags that we can give to some family and off he went with the guys. 30 minutes later all us moms are looking at each other like what is up. We also had the kids with us and they were getting antsy. I look over at the shop and I see one of the men drinking coffee. Oh my goodness - what were they doing, bonding or something? Us women were not very happy. Come to find out, they were waiting because the staff had to go to the back of the store to actually roast the coffee beans for them, cool them off, then shrink wrap. Needless to say the coffee loving family members who got some of our coffee beans really really liked it.
