Well, it's just a spot of tea for me. The animals are all taken care of and the greenhouse is done for the morning.

Actually... I should call it a 'Saran-house'. Well, according to what my Mum would have said. See, since it's blazing hot and all, I took the roof panels off and replaced them with saran shade in the last three-quarters of the roof. So the back half of the Greenhouse is a shade house.

See... we didn't get enough rain or snow this year and the water is really short. So, I've left the tomatoes and peppers in the G.H. as it conserves the water a bit better. Won't get the volume from them, but the veggies will look a bit better.

Well, I have to get out to the shop and get the motor out of my Stationwagon. Silly clutch isn't cooperating. I suspect it needs replacing. Can't get a job if I don't have transportation.

I hope you all have a great day.

Hey, my thread on having a separate forum for the elca was closed in case flaming might happen. I actually thought it was a pretty good conversation going on about it.
I did change my mind from my original post because of that thread. I didn't think it was such a bad thing. Oh well...........

Whilst I agree with both of you, Sis and Rad, discussing a Mod's actions is a serious no-no on this forum. We are supposed to keep that kind of thing elsewhere. I forget where...:doh: then again, that's why I stay out of T.C. any more. My ears were ringing from banging my head against the wall.:waaah: My conclusion, drawn from many-a brusing conversation in T.C, is that most of the ELCA members have made up their minds and facts only confuse them.;)

I like it much better here.:)

May your Sunday be a blessed one!

Thanks for the heads up, Stude. I'll try and behave better. :holy:

I caught a nasty summer cold during the night. Ugh - this stinks. Hubby and I stayed home from church and had devotions for about an hour. We just couldn't stop finding cool things to read about and discuss.

I think it's awful that you feel the need to stay out of the general part of TCL because of what we have to encounter there. I just blocked one person - perhaps you could try that???? :)

Hey, my thread on having a separate forum for the elca was closed in case flaming might happen.

"Might happen"? What about all of the flaming that is actually happening in just about every other thread in the general forum? Apparently they don't mind that much.

I read a post in the ELCA subforum a while back about them wanting to "take back the Lutheran forum". Now isn't the time to hole ourselves up in our little safe haven. We need to make sure that Theologia Crucis-Lutherans stays Lutheran!

Sic em Revrand! LOL, they deserve it!:p^_^

I wouldn't know about the last six months or so, but last year I noticed that the Liberal forum was not very active. A thread or two moving along every few days, that's about it. If they're still that 'active' there's no danger of the Libs. taking over the Lutheran forums. Then again, it might be that they just don't have anything to say unless they're throwing rocks at sound doctrine and faithful theology.;)

Selfish bragging about my kids.

One thing that makes DH and I smile (and puts a tear in our eyes) is how much our kids LOVE church, and anything having to do with Jesus.

Every time we drive by our church, they ask if we are going and are disappointed if we say no, and are cheering if we do go. A couple of Sundays ago, I started letting them go to "kid's church" during the sermon, and now they tell me that's their favorite part. I can't wait to sign them up for Sunday School.

A few weeks after we got home, we got a call from church saying they had presents for the kids and asked if we could come pick them up. They were children's Bibles.

You have to realize they have received a lot of stuff since they got home - so much so we've begged friends and family to stop giving them stuff because they were having problems understanding possessions like other children their age do. When we first met them, the first thing we gave them were backpacks. They were their first possessions ever that were entirely their own. They still cherish those backpacks, but anything we have given them since they got home has not gone in the backpacks. When we gave them the Bibles, they handled them like they were sacred books, and immediately put them in their backpacks. Every night before bed, they want me to read something out of one of the Bibles and fight over whose Bible I will be reading from.

Don't get me started about their praying. They say these intricate prayers in their native language for meal time and bedtime with one leading and the other responding. The one leading folds their hands like we do. The one responding puts their hands over their eyes. During church when we are praying, they sometimes put their hands over their eyes. Does anyone know what that means? I know the meal time prayer is loosely translated to thanking God for their food, and praying that God feeds those who do not have enough to eat. They learned that prayer at a time when they, themselves, didn't have enough to eat.

They don't speak enough English for us to completely ascertain how much they understand their/our faith, but it is all really heartening, and just precious.

I don't know what we did to deserve such wonderful kids, but we can't thank God enough!

Brag away kiddo! Yeah, I remember when mine were little. I kinda miss them. My youngest used to cry if I was too tired to go to church. I'd end up sitting wayyyyy in the back just in case I fell asleep (which usually happened).

Oh, and Sis, about T.L. it's not that I feel I musn't go there, I choose not too. Just tired of it, I guess. Besides, right now I don't have time for the research.

Flipper - I remember 4 years ago when I joined this forum and we began praying for God to give you and your husband a child. Instead, He doubly blessed you with 2 children. It is so neat to hear what God has done for your family. Whoever thought He would answer our prayers in this manner? But that is what He saw fit to do. Your stories bring happy tears to my eyes.

Well, I started the move yesterday.:sigh: My model cabinet is about half empty. All the die-cast cars are back in their boxes or packed up and the Secretary is emptied too. Well, the top half of the Secretary anyway. The desk still needs attending to. The computer desk is about half-empty on the book shelves. Looks... odd that way. All of George's lamps got put away yesterday. It's amazing how dirty one gets handling dusty stuff. Anyway, I have to do laundry today so whilst I'm out I'll pick up the boxes for the model trains and put them away today. Then I have to make room in the storage unit for the display cabinet. It's a big one. An old commercial cabinet about six feet tall and ten long, all one piece, and very heavy. It's not so bad once the glass is out of it though. I have to dig up my furniture dollys. Oh... joy... is'nt this fun... :|:sigh:

Hi, I took a chance and came on CF, I won't be here much, not because of y'all but last week I came in 3 times in a week and my virus program went off, one of the ads on CF had a virus so I don't want to take a chance of my virus program not working and messing my laptop up. Hubby won't be to happy trying to fix it. So I won't be on here much at all unless CF makes sure they don't put ads on that have virus's.

Very happy for you Flipper that you have the family that you have long looked for, and the additional blessing that The Lord has given them faith.

Stude, I pray The Lord keeps giving you strength and guidance. You've been through a lot.

CTAY, next time you are on line look up AVAST free anti virus. I installed it on mine at the advice of my son and have had no problem since, and it requires no maintenance, takes care of itself all on its own.
