  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think I'll sit down here for a bit... (10)

I can't tell you how to defrag as I am one of those Mac users. I am wondering if maybe the keyboard is wonky. Is it the same letters that don't type? If it is the same letters, they may be sticking. Sometimes, when conditions are right, I type too fast for my computer to keep up. Sometimes that is because the computer is being slow.

Just a couple of ideas.

To defrag, click on all programs, the menue will expand, then click on accesories, then another menue will appear, you will see defrag, click on it and follow directions, and remember how you got there ;)

By the way, Dells are good, mine is 6 years old and still going strong, but all computers need maintenance just like you car does.

I'm in too much of a tiz today to defrag my computer - I think I need defragging actually. If you guys would be so kind as to pray for hubby and I today, I would be so grateful. There is a meeting this afternoon where we find out what our future holds. I'm a stomach knotted wreck....and scared out of my wits. I'm sure you guys are all sick of me over the past 2yrs and all this crud that has happened to us.....but, I just....well....am not doing so good right now.

Ok....thanks for the hugs and prayers. I'm feeling better tonight. We will be fine - this will just all take some getting used to. Sorry to spew. I will try to be in more control from here on in.

That's quite all right, Sis. The Bankruptcy process can be very intimidating. In fact, the courts and the creditors seem to go out of their way to make it so. Having gone through this with my wife (before we were married) and then once myself after she died, I can sympathise with you. Just keep your heads, you and your husband. It'll be over before long.

I've been so run-down and tired the last two weeks. Not sure if it's depression or just a worn-out main spring, LOL!;):p First time since I was in Kindergarten that I've needed afternoon naps. Very frustrating and annoying.:sigh:

Our youngest son works for a temp service, he put in an application at the place he's temping at and they hadn't called anyone in yet for an interview, tuesday of last week we ended up taking him to the emergency room and his appendix had ruptured. He had surgery and stayed until sunday morning in the hospital. He can't get his unemployment now, he was supposed to start back yesterday to work. I just hope the hospial and dr works with him until he can get some money coming back in. I think the temp services should be outlawed where these companies would have to hire people so they can have benefits.

Well, this is partly what the Obaminator is trying to iron out with Congress. Sadly, outsourcing and temp services have allowed American business to cheat and bind the average worker in this country. I've worked for this kind of company and they're slave markets. I find it amusing when people complain about the Unions and how horrible they are. If it wasn't for the Unions, no one would have any bennies at all. Then again... maybe if there was no such thing as Medical insurance, Medical services wouldn't be quite so expensive?;)

I do hope and pray your son gets back on his feet soon, Ctay.

You have been through a lot lately, Stude. It might be a little depression. How are things going for you right now? Maybe have a visit with your doctor or pastor.

Well... things aren't as bad as they could be. I qualified for two hundred dollars a month in food stamps, so I'll not starve. However, since I have so many vehicles, they won't give me any monitary assistance at all, not even the work programme. LOL, you should see the valuations they placed on my cars! If I could get six thousand dollars for Bess (56 Wagon) I'd sell her tout-suite!:p;) Well... mayyyy-be not. But, I'd sure be tempted, LOL!^_^

I have been tempted to go see the doctor. However, the County doctors aren't very interested in working with people like me. CMSP doesn't pay much. As for the Pastor, probably not. He's young and somewhat... how do I put this... well, insensitive. I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing my troubles with him again. So, I'm kinda winging it right now.

You should either repair those Studebackers or sell them so you aren't tied down and enslaved to your situation there. How can you make any quality unilateral decisions with all that standing in your way?

Hey I love antique cars and have had the same ones for 20+ years but if they kept impeding my progress they would be gone in a flash.

If the Studebakers were the problem, Rad I'd agree with you. However, if I had a newer car, say like the Chrysler I sold over ten years ago, I couldn't afford to have it fixed when something went wrong, neither could I fix it myself. Nor could I afford payments or full-coverage insurance that comes with a new car. Not to mention the regular smog work that California requires. So, though the Studeclunkers present me with regular challenges and frustrations, they are far more affordable for me than a newer car.

Thanks for the advice though. It's quite right in it's own way.:)
