If I say that Jesus will return May 2505, that is not setting a day or hour.

What I think you are missing is that there is Wisdom, in avoiding being too specific.

Daniel 12:10 does say 'the wise will understand', and Amos 3:7 the Lord reveals His plans to the prophets.
We are given exact times in Ezekiel 4:4 - 390 years punishment of exile for the House of Israel. Then we are told in Leviticus 26:18, that if they still refuses to obey His Laws, they would receive seven times more for their sins. This makes a total of 2730 years from when the Northern tribes of Israel were taken out of the holy Land, to when they can return.
We know it was 722/21BC that Israel was first defeated, but their final deportation came later, under Sargon 2 in 719/18. Ref: The History of Israel - John Bright.
718 + 2013 -1 = 2730 Therefore this year is the last year of the decreed exile of Israel and very soon they will be able to return to their inheritance. Note, I am not talking about Judah, the Jewish people, they have partially returned, as prophesied by the 'budding of the fig tree'. But in order for the children of Israel to make their 2nd exodus, the holy Land will be cleared and cleansed and that will be done by the many prophesied fire judgement, most clearly told to us in Ezekiel 20:45-49 and Ezekiel 21:1-7

Date setting is in ill repute because the likes of Harold Camping used his own weird maths [and his money] to promote a date that was wrong. As I quote in #10, the prophets say we can know the Lord's plans for us. The Lord doesn't want His people to be unaware and unprepared for what must happen.
