By theology of anger, I mean how things work spiritually in God's way of anger, versus how things work in what is not God's anger.
I notice how God has done things when He has been angry: He makes things better.
For example, in the Jewish Temple, Jesus saw how people were using the Temple to make money. Jesus made things better by overturning tables and kicking out the money makers. Matthew 21:12
So, through this I see how when God has us angry about something, He also has us do what makes things better.
We can trust God to guide our emotions and how we act on them.
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." (Romans 8:14)
"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)
But >
"the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God." (in James 1:20)
So, when anger is not obedient to God, people do not make things better. And what works for me is > if I can tell that my anger is wrong, get angry against that wrong anger! And trust ***God*** to get rid of it >
Do not let that nasty filth out on anybody.
Do not sympathize with it.
Do not try to satisfy it.
But *f-l-u-s-h* it.
Satan has no business violating us with nasty negative selfish self-righteously critical anger; so refuse him.
Do not try to negotiate with a terrorist, do not try to negotiate with Satan and his dominating and dictatorial anger.
"'The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." (in Luke 18:27)
With God it is possible to overcome and get rid of anger that is evil. Do not try to negotiate with it and "manage" it in a constructive way > because >
"the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God." (in James 1:19-20)
Instead, put away the wrong anger >
"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." (Ephesians 4:31)
And after God has cleared us of wrong anger, then discover how God through Jesus has us relating > Jesus is our "way" (John 14:9) to God and His way of relating >
"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32)
Therefore, I see from this > do not only try to manage and vent wrong anger, but get rid of it and discover how we become and relate in God's love > Jesus says,
"'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)
So, Jesus is "gentle and lowly in heart". Therefore, my theo-logic tells me, that the emotions of Jesus Christ's love are gentle and humble. And here is how we are told to share and relate as God's children >
"with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love," (Ephesians 4:2)
Instead of having anger ready for when we see something wrong - - have this "longsuffering" ready. Even a mature child of God can be wrong, at times. So . . . even with our leaders and special friends - - - instead of staying ready to be hurt and unforgiving and self-righteously critical - - - stay ready with love's pleasantly patient and creative longsuffering so we can help someone who gets the wrong way.
"My brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted." (Galatians 6:1)
Yes, if we are gentle in Jesus, we are strong enough and creative enough to help any person in "any" sin problem. Because God is almighty and so creative and He shares this with us in His love. Therefore, we are told >
"nor give place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:27)
Do not give him place by being ready to excuse selfish and controlling anger > and >
"Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation," (in Phililpians 2:13-16)
Yes, stay clear of angry complaining and arguing, and become like Jesus, instead.
