I am posting this video here not necessarily to start a discussion, though it might, but just FYI. Here is the scripture reference.
Rev. 8:10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood.a]">[a] A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.(NIV)

Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

In addition to an asteroid, "Wormwood" may refer to a space station orbiting the earth and containing a large volume of biochemical weapons. If the space station fell to earth the weapons would be released and distributed over a large area of the earth. Wormwood doesn't refer to nuclear weapons since they have no taste. The name "wormwood" would be assigned to this object only after the impact which causes the large number of deaths by poison.

Also Chernobyl means wormwood. Remember the nuclear power plant that melted down there?

The Chernobyl nuclear disaster of April 26, 1986 , which cost at least 42 lives has never had any biblical importance since wormwood is a chemical, not a radiation poison. Aside from its international affect on the environment, Chernobyl also caused a delay in constructing further nuclear plants for some years.

Chernobyl means mugwort, akin to wormwood, but not the same thing.

But Chernobyl does mean wormwood. I just wonder if it's accident was a warning from our Father in heaven.

"A theory spread that Chernobyl was named for the Ukranian word for wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), the plant that just so happens to be mentioned in the passage. But the city's name is actually the Ukranian word for mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris), which is related to—though not quite the same as—wormwood. www.atlasobscura.com › places › angel-monument-chernobyl "

    It's not true.
