I still hold to this view, even after this post made well over a year ago. Personally, I think this long running thread had ran its course.

If women priests are allowed to hear Confessions,
and are allowed to adopt children.

We might be able to stop some abortions.
Women priests can adopt those babies.

Sorry, but this makes no sense.

A woman's suitability to adopt a child has nothing to do with a calling to the priesthood - except that some may decide that she would not be able to give enough time to a child.
Why would women have to be priests to specifically adopt babies saved from abortion? Why would they even need to be women? These days, single men and even gay couples can adopt.
Women, whether single or married, can adopt babies without them needing to be priests. I think you are confusing two different issues.

I don't think he can, because he's not the OP.
I think it could possibly be reported as it's getting/has got off topic. (But don't quote me, and that's not a hint that you should do that.)

Thank you. You are correct. The tone of his post led me to believe that he was the OP.

I suppose we will just let the thread lumber along off-topic on the virtue of women adopting children.

How do you thread a needle?

Not too far to the left.
Not too far to the right.

Not too far to the right.

And that's got even less to do with women's ordination.
Maybe you can't answer the questions I asked you?

The world needs women priests
to help women in poor countries get an education and jobs.

Jesus ordained two priests.
John the Baptist and Mary of Bethany.

Does the world need women priests?

Was Mary Magdalene officially ordained? No scriptures come to mind supporting that.

Jesus let John the Baptist give Him a baptism.
That is like a priest.

Jesus let Mary of Bethany anoint Him with holy oil.
That is like a priest.
Then Jesus said when you spread the Gospel throughout the world,
Do it in memory of her.

Why?
She was the first woman to be a Christian priest.

A child needs a mother.

Sorry, but either you are deliberately being unclear, you enjoy writing in riddles or you really don't understand what you are being asked.

If you can't answer my questions and stay on the topic of your own thread, there's no point in continuing this.

As I understand it, there's no shortage of people willing to adopt (healthy) babies. Abortion won't be solved by lining up potential adoptive parents.

I'm also frustrated with this thread. The ordination of women won't be advanced by irrelevant or weak arguments.

The scripture is unambiguous.

Matthew 7:12
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

There can be no discrimination based on DNA differences.
People doing this should be removed from the church membership.
They can still attend as visitors because all are welcome to visit and listen.

"Like a priest" is not the same as being a priest. Priests imitating Biblical rituals has little meaning IMHO.

There is nothing in Scripture that says that Mary of Bethany was a priest (or priestess).

The TV stations might be blocking shows with women priests.

Even fictional shows about women priests are rare.
Can you name any other than The Vicar of Dibley?

And a father, the lack of which is the biggest issue facing black children in the USA.
Black neighborhoods are more isolated than other minorities.
Money doesn’t flow into the neighborhood at the same rate.

I can (and am) also commenting in this thread as a member, not under my Admin authority. My request was a reasonable one as the partial quote took my comment out of context and made it seem as if I were implying something I was not. Many (most) partial quotes don't do that.

But I really am going to leave it at that, thank you for your time.
