I also remember everyone having respect and removing their hats when they talked to a lady. I remember when their were ladies. Sigh I'm depressed now...
And people would doors open for others.
Some people are shocked when I do this for them. They can be 30 feet away and I will wait for them.
Everybody is in such a rush these days.
Technology seems to have stolen something from us, IMO. I cant quite put my finger on it though.
Work ethic.
We are lazy, everything has to be done for us.
Remember those old TV's where you had to get up to change the channel?
Then there were some "improvements " and we got remotes.
Now they tell us we can just use our voice, we don't even have to push a button.

The internet has changed everything, it seems.

But it hasn't actually changed much. My car has no connection, and
my home could care less how the web works. Cell phone use is banned
at my wifes school and where I work.

Internet has changed everything, imo anyway. Our privacy is always a concern.

Its alarming how much technology has taken over our lives. I remember when we still used rotary phones, lol, and that was long ago, in a land far far away...

It might actually destroy your financial life any day now:

Twitter says all 336 million users should change their passwords

The company announced on Thursday it discovered a bug that saved user passwords on an internal log without proper encryption.

It would be a good thing to keep it that way.
Newer cars are coming out with there own wifi.
They have refrigerators connected to the internet so when you go shopping you can just check your fridge instead of making a list before you go shopping.
Has anyone seen the movie Maximum Overdrive?

What if your search history becomes public knowledge one day?

And self driving cars. Reminds me of that old movie Total Recall

I really like the music services online, so a connected car would be nice.
But I wouldn't enjoy a head on collision with a web-head.
They dropped the Google Glasses with internet built in.

I do not miss driving around looking for a phone booth. My iPhone has GPS and Internet access.

In the mid 1960's my dad was stationed at a military base in Europe. We went to a farmer's market where people had their chickens slaughtered fresh as the market did not have refrigeration.

These are the good old days.

Not me.

Conversation with our daughter (50ish).

Her: Dad, I sent you a picture text message. Did you get it?

Me: No. Can my phone receive text messages?

Her: Of course. You have a smart phone, don't you.

Me: No. I still have a dumb phone.

Her: What do you do with it?

Me: I call people and talk to them. Like I'm doing right now.

Her: Why don't you text me?

Me: If I wanted to write you a letter I would do it on my typewriter.

Her: Dad! Nobody has a typewriter any more!

Me: I do. A 1929 Olivetti.

Her: Never mind, dad. I surrender.

Phones can be good as well. Its good to be able to contact someone no matter where they are, or where you are.
Unless you are like me in these hills, I am running around saying "can ya hear me now??"
