There are very few articles about big issues in Cosmopolitan, and these are rarely mentioned on the cover--and if mentioned at all on the cover, in very small print! Yet, the most of the articles are about dieting and dolling yourself up to the point of ridiculousness.

They might mention "super confidence" but it has nothing to do with being smart. All to do with NOT being a shrinking violet.

Bah, you can have Hefner, sexist that he is, my hero Kinsey wins hands down any day. Kinsey did a lot more, and did so with the notion that sexuality was normal in any form between consenting adults. Hefner has in all his years of objectifying women accomplished nothing but the building of an empire. If it wasn't for Kinsey, Hefner would not have been as well received by the formerly strictly puritanical society.

I never read Cosmopolitan, I only see the covers and I ever time I do it seems to have something about "96 sex tips to spice your sex life" or something like that. It seems to be a very shallow magazine.

Kinsey made his contributions. But Hefner put sex in the hands of people who didnt read Kinsey or who flat didnt care about what he said.

It's about the odds and the science of Statistics and Probability.

Not every aroused men will become a danger to our female loved ones. That's just ridiculous.

But the more aroused men there are, then there will be an increased probability that more of them will lose all sense of rationality and decency. Maybe just a very small, minuscule number, but the odds will certainly increase with more material available to arouse men in the general population. (and being neighbors to our daugthers, sisters, nieces etc.)

Just like traffic. More cars on the road, more chances of car accidents occurring.

Just do the math.

i have to say our cosmopolitan is one of the bad ones, probably because brit girls are more overweight than others, still it talks a lot about school and jobs and the articles about sex are both the "how to please" and "how to get pleased" kind and anyways it opposes the model of the girl who needs to be rescued.
it's not my fav magazine and of course if is the only magazine you read there is a problem there, but there is nothing wrong with it itself.

I don't see anything wrong with a polyamorous or polygamous relationship if everyone in it is happy. I wouldn't personally ever have one. Although.......

I'm not a huge playboy fan. The internet is better for naked ladies, stupid articles, and everything else.

Over time, I'll give you that. 200,000 copies sold in about two months - for a science publication that is quite extraordinary, even a lot of copies just for a publicly released novel back then! But to say that people didn't care is to ignore the impact. Rockefeller was put on the spot, pressured to drop funding. A lot of coverage of this research and all the allegations were bringing puritanical views in the spotlight (for questioning) much like the recent Sam Harris, Hitchens books have been doing to religion.

Needless to say it opened a lot more mailboxes for Hefner than if Kinsey hadn't come out with his study. I just can't deny the influence of the sexual liberation movement which was pretty much started in 1948.

Playboy is so stupid. People google all over it.....why? It doesnt show love, it just shows sex....its not pretty. Sex is supposed to be shared between husband and wife....no one else. People misuse the gifts that God has given them so much its not even funny.
