  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'll probably wait for the DVD. I'm more excited to death over Thor, Iron Man III, and most especially Man of Steel!!!

X-Men First Class was well-done, but the first Wolverine was a bit disappointing. One never knows....

Personally, I feel like Wolverine is too overexposed. He isn't a bad character, but he has never been a true favorite of mine. In the cartoons it was kind of amusing, he would get out his claws and then not use it. They could not have him slicing people up, so in the end he would just punch them :)

I also don't really like how they changed certain characters (the Deadpool character in the movie was a joke..they only used the name. Emma Frost and Agent Zero were both lacking as well, changed, etc.).

I am looking forward to Man of Steel though. It's nice to see a archetype good superhero again. The hero you wish you were in your childhood ^^ Maybe one day a Justice League movie, though I wonder if it would be possible to make it a success because of various reasons.

JLA will be a tough thing to deliver on the big screen. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. It's funny that Justice League was FIRST to come out in the comics, years before Avengers, and yet on the big screen Marvel was first to pounce....

Well, DC did do well with the past Batman movies from the 80's. And at least the first Superman movie. But I think Marvel is easier to adapt. DC is more superhero like. Colorful costumes, which rarely get a update (they even brought back the "window" in Power Girl's costume..) but are very iconic to the characters. But I do love that DC created entire cities, especially Gotham City and Metropolis. They seem to reflect their heroes and villains well.

@ s4G1989: Yup, the actor said he liked Deadpool and would stay true to the character..seeing the movie, made me think he was trolling us hard ;) But I also have issues with Emma Frost and Agent Zero.

Emma never, ever, got along with her sisters (she even ended up killing one). And Silverfox was not one of them. And Emma's first and foremost power is telepathy. Turning herself into diamond came way later and was triggered by, I believe Xaviers evil twin sister. And her story, being the White Queen of the Hellfire Club and moving on from there is more interesting than what they did with her in Origins. I did not see much back from Maverick in Agent Zero either, which is a shame.

I have to disagree a bit. I think DC was AWFUL in the Batman 80's and 90's movies. Those were a disgrace. The first Keaton movie was somewhat passable, but the rest were abominations! The rebooted Nolan Batman movies were fifty times better and real home runs. Everyone hated Green Lantern, but I thought it was passable. I'd like to see it rebooted though.

DC is tougher to make and yet easier. Tougher because some of their heroes have such outrageously awesome powers (Supes, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, etc.) and yet on the bright side the badguys in DC don't "usually" have powers (Joker, Riddler, lex Luthor, etc.). DC always focused more on crime, Marve on world domination, etc.

To clarify, I meant with “do well” that, I believe, it did well in the cinemas and the public. Personally, I did think the Batman movies were entertaining (with the exception of the last one, because batgirl just seemed like a afterthought and didn’t even have red hair..which is very important! :p), even though none of the Batman actors looked like the image I had of Bats.

I do like that DC does not make a huge deal out of their meta-humans, while Marvel really build their universe on the angst of the mutant population. Not a bad thing though.

And I am curious if they one day create a updated Wonder Woman costume (not hotpants, but actually whole pants) that looks natural (not the shiny PVC clothes that Adrianne Palicki wore). With the new 52, WW did get a background story and cast that may lend itself better for a decent movie / tv show.

!!! Wolverine!!! I love Marvel movies, they are very good at making you laugh, and have a slight feel of intensiveness. I love the Wolverine movie and I can't wait to see the new one. I also love the movie Iron Man 3. Hugh Jackman, Wolverine, is a great actor.

I actually watch The wolverine almost once a day, the setting, and the theme of the movie gets me in a mood I cant even describe, more of a focus, relaxing, away from the normal Hollywood action themes, taking place on the other side of the world, the aging and lonely journey of wolverine, I kind of relate too. This movie seperates wolverine from the rest of the pack of hero mutants, and save the world themes, wolverine has always been a stand alone, unique, character. When your by yourself or kind of spaced away for what ever reason, friends/family/ society, etc. you might be able to relate.
