I just got the demo and played it last night and it is pretty sweet. You can go from isometric point/click to OTS third person with the flick of a button and the combat is lock on type but you chain combos by changing styles and timing your clicks. It's very intuitive and the way the game tells its story is awesome. High quality cut-scenes are interspersed through the tutorial to make the story and the combat blend so beautifully.

I mean, c'mon, fighting werewolves with a silver sword!

The only gripe I have is that I can't use my usb gampad to play it. It would be such a great game to put on PS3 and 360. Check out these screens.

I've read some good reviews, and this game sounds amazing. I'll have to check it out.

Is it like the game titan quest/diablo? What would you compare it to, besides a summers day. This is the first i have heard of the game btw. ty for the post.

EDIT: http://pc.ign.com/articles/831/831264p1.html
Ok i see it is more like oblivion since i looked at a review on it. Too bad it is rated "M". Is the rating due to language, violence or is the a lot of religious/demonic stuff in in it?But yeah the game got pretty good reviews "8.5-8.8".

"The Witcher" is based on fantasy novels of Andrzej Sapkowski. He is the most popular fantasy writer in Poland. Sapkowski wrote some 7-8 books about Wiedźmin (pol. Whitcher). All based on slavic mithology. For polish edition Sapkowski wrote one novel extra, and heavy metal band "Vader" made one singiel too, which are added to game box. In Poland that game is the event of the year. People were waiting since years for that game :)
So have a nice time with Witcher.

I was so disappointed in The Witcher. It looked great and had a great story, but the controls were horrible. So much so that I packed it up and got rid of it. :(

Really? I found them very intuitive, though I think the OTS mode would be much better with a gamepad.

isnt the gameplay similar to gothic or two worlds?

I can't say since I've never played them but you can switch between isometric (high or low) and OTS (over the shoulder) view with a hotbutton. In isometric view movement is point/click with mouselook disabled but "driving" controls still work so you can use the kb to move even in isometric. In OTS view forward moves you in the direction the camera is facing and you have mouselook so movement doesn't get confusing. One gripe I have is that you run forward but strafe at walking speed.

You click on enemies to initiate attack mode then when your cursor changes to a flame, you click to make a special attack. As long as you don't click other than when it's a flame, you increase the chain of attacks which makes them more powerful. There are also different combat styles such as "strong" for large, armored opponents, "fast" for quick, agile opponents and "group" for groups of weaker opponents. You have to select the correct combat style for your current opponent in order to be able to chain attacks.
