Ah, Joe----us G.I. types aren't all that bad. It's just that we tend to be defensive about the Old Unit.

We know there's stupidity and corruption in the military. But it's our stupidity and corruption. For an outsider to tell us about our own stupidy and corruption that we already know about is sort of like somebody from another country who hates America to come over and start dissing the United States in no uncertain terms. The attitude among us is sort of, "Serve first---then you can complain."

Whew... ok, this past couple of weeks has been rough. I've been feeling extremely low, and my emotions have become a bit, errrm... RABID.

Ok, so now I'm ready to "let the healing begin".

I get pretty frustrated sometimes. I love the way the line between "eternal and unchanging will of God" and "cultural misunderstandings" is perpetually right around the edges of the perceptions of the middle class.

I just read a post where one of the big bashers said that the Catholics had no right to complain about anti-Catholic posts, because the Catholics are "allowed" to post blasphemy against God and their anti-Biblical doctrine. Of course the post contained several of those smilies that roll around and laugh.

BTW, if you want someone to commiserate with, look at some of the things that happen to the non-Christians; you can say nearly anything to 'em, but if *they* question *your* behavior, well, that's a personal attack, and a warning. *sigh*.

The RR puke smileys are disgusting. If you look closely, stuff comes out of the smiley's nose as well as mouth, and afterwards there is leftover vomit on the smiley's mouth. It's digusting, and it's also disgusting how often the most vicious anti-Catholics use it when attacking Catholic doctrine.
