Susan just explained how, because Rurouni Kenshin has an NC-17 (nudity) rating, it must be borderline hentai.

The funny thing is that Kenshin originally ran in Shonen Jump, a magazine intended for middle-school children.

I know, my wife is about to subscribe to Shonen Jump, on the sole grounds that Kenshin ran in it. :)

I still have to finish the series; Beloved Spouse bought all 19 or so DVD's, and I haven't watched more than a third of them.

Get it for One Piece if for nothing else. One Piece is an excellent manga that is fresh and original even after 26 volumes. (Shaman King and Naruto are also strong series; I really hope the translated one does well.) It's very unfortunate that they did not include Hikaru no Go -- that's another exceptional series that's still running in SJ now.

The popularity of One Piece is unbelievable in Japan -- when I was there I saw all kinds of people reading SJ and the collected volumes. Young girls, young guys, people in business suits, housewives, etc.

Nah. I'm so right-handed it's not even funny. I can't do *anything* left-handed. I spent a lot of time as a kid trying to learn, 'cuz I figured you could learn to be ambidexterous. HAH! I have a few left-handed friends, though.

:) Me, too. If I ever lost my right hand, God forbid, I might as well lose the left too, since it would be absolutely useless. I had my right wrist in a cast once as a kid, and after a few days my teacher asked my mom if someone at home could write my homework for me since she couldn't begin to read my attempts at left-handed writing. :D

Oops. You know, you'd think I would have noticed the pink pseudo-ankh thing. Sorry, ma'am.

And sure, have a whole box. I don't "get" chocolate.

Oh, dear. Well, if it's any consolation, newborns aren't that clear on faces at first, so Baby Jesus probably won't notice right away. :p

Time to chill.....

Did you know that military people commit more serious crime than anyone else, are poorly educated, are only in the service to pick up a steady paycheck, and basically are just the slime of the earth? Didn't know that? Well, just check out the thread on the military in Korea and find out just how awful all of us military folks really are!

I dunno. I like peanut butter cups. I can munch on dark chocolate, but milk chocolate just doesn't do it for me.

Beloved Spouse, of course, likes chocolate. Me, I like hot pepper - cayenne and stuff. Can't imagine life without it.

My one complaint about CF: We can't swear, I mean, even when profanity is the only way to start raising the level of a discussion.

But ya know, honestly, the people I served with were, for the most part, honest and sincere. They enlisted to serve their country and they took pride in a job well done. I don't think that has changed. Sure there are bad ones in the military, just as in civilian life. But to label all military as low-lives and criminals is just.....well I'm at a loss for words!
