Oh good, Angel! Gotta tell you my Chieftains story!!!
A lotta years ago, I was in Washington DC. I went to an Irish pub with some friends to have some Irish coffee and listen to the band. They were really good but there was this little guy sitting in the corner drinking beer. He seemed to be very sloshed. He'd lay his head down and snooze and come up for air and another sip of beer once in awhile. Well, the band got him to wake up long enough to come up to the mic and he pulled out this little tin whistle and just starting playing the greatest tune. He got more music out of that little whistle than I would ever think possible. Amazing. Once he was finished, he went back to his table, laid his head down and went right back to sleep.
Several years later, I was watching Boston Pops and guess who was on? The little guy from the pub. And he was a member of the Chieftains!!
I've been a fan ever since
