The Venting Thread

Huh. If my mom tried to do that with me I would label her as "toxic" and go no contact with her.

But I suppose you are not going to be that extreme with your own mother, are you?

I have this really strong philosophy that after someone in my country turns 18, they are of legal adult age and they are the masters of their own destinies from then on out. I guess my philosophy comes from how fiercely independent I am, and I really don't want anyone running my own life except God and myself. If a parent interferes in someone's life after they turn 18, then I can get really angry.

Sorry. Very few things in this world make me angry (I am usually so agreeable), but parental interference after one is an adult, and arranged marriages both upset me and make me angry.

People should marry for love and only love. Nothing else. Not because your parents say so, but because you love your partner and you make that decision on your own to wed him/her.

There. I have given my opinion. I'm sure you didn't ask for it, but hey, there it is anyway.

Also, it's annoying getting judged for who you are or who you want to be with. My mother is as judgy and contemptuous as it gets. I don't think I've heard her praise me for anything in my life. I don't know if she's proud of me for anything at all.

I was considering trying Hinge again, but I think I won't!!

I'm just going to continue praying to God.

That's what I think I should be doing!!

It's hard finding people you can truly commune with and relate to in life...

I feel very lonely, personally. I wish I had more friends, especially closer friends. I was really in love with someone, I really cared about her and I really trusted her, but she still betrayed me............... She crushed my heart, she stamped it. I had high hopes for this relationship and I fought to keep her but she's just the most unreliable and untrustworthy person on the planet and I feel like a dummy for having loved her so much and let her into my life. I invested everything in her, as much emotionally as monetarily as well. Still, she treated me as if I was nothing to her in the end... She had made promises to me though and I had believed her. She held none of them.

As for friends, a lot of them gave up on me as well and the other half won't respond to my stupid texts or calls. It makes me feel like the most unimportant person on the planet. I feel disposable.

I hate it when older family homes and lots are bought, the houses are torn down, and apartments are built.

It's like they're taking things away from us.

I don't ever vent, but I am sick and tired of my elderly mom judging people based upon how they look and treating me like I am still a kid. I'm 38 years old for heaven's sake. It's ridiculous.
