  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Since December, I've been robbed twice.
The first time I dutifully made a police report and nothing came of it.
The second time was much more serious; someone wearing a mask entered my home and was awaiting me upon my return home. They attempted to ambush me at gunpoint; they were after my debit card. I ran at the time, getting away from the gunman.
It took a few days to get over the shock of what happened.
The police had responded initially to help me regain my home.

After the second time I began my prayer life anew. I forgave the person who did this and I worked on my own reaction to what is happening in the world. I was so close to getting shot that it served as a wake up call for me.
The only thing I can say is that the hand of The Lord moved;
After about 3 months I ran into the gunman in a public place. I knew and he knew that I knew.
I told him that no one had been made the better person by being jailed. He had a second chance; I was not going to turn him in.
He cried.
I pray that his heart might be opened.
The measure that we meet out will be met unto us.
I had been forgiven long ago.
