  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No offense, but seems like tossing a meaty bone into a den of lions, hoping to incite a riot. But in this case, the lions were well-behaved.

Putin isn't the "Orthodox pope" though - Matt is right, that's silly on a number of levels.

The joke is people looking up memes for like Facebook or forums, and how they find one funny thing after another that becomes almost addicting as they lose track of time. Just being silly.

We are heading into Yellowstone for the day.

Even though I saw a unisex bathroom in Bozeman it seems like if you were looking for a place to escape the sodom and gommorah that the coasts are rapidly becoming Montana and Wyomming would be good places to do it. I really liked Helena but there's no Orthodox Church there. There is one in Billings.

The priest here is named Father David. But he's out of town this weekend. We're visiting a friend here before going down to Billings tomorrow after reader's services. I'm teaching an icon workshop in Billings this coming week.
