The following is just my opinion, and could be wrong. But I believe that we are soon to enter the time of tribulation explained in the book of revelation in the bible, starting with a global war. The church will be hunted down during a part of the tribulation, deprived of food, not able to buy or sell, many will die of sickness, and hunger, and eventually many believers will be put to death by those who hate them. All sound fairly bad does not it?

Although the bible describes that many Christians will be killed during the tribulation, I can’t see that it is biblical that every believer will go through that type of suffering, essentially it is not a requirement to suffer to enter the gates of heaven. Why do I say that? We look to the men of faith in the bible Joshua, King David, and Joseph, Moses, none of them died a horrible death, God preserved them from wars conflicts and death through their faith, they are all in heaven today. Why is there to be suffering? The bible suggests that those who are forced to suffer for Christ will have higher position of honour in heaven, a better resurrection. Note what Hebrews says,

Heb 11:33-34 who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword … and others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: and others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

The bible praises two groups, those with faith to be delivered from the power of the sword unharmed, and those who were persecuted for their faith and gave their lives up to receive a better resurrection, they surrendered themselves to be tortured, had mocking and scourging’s at the hands of evil men.

Do I know who will suffer and who will not? Not at all? Maybe all will suffer to a degree? But have faith in God at this time, for the one who overcomes, and is faithful to the end shall be saved.

I am a bit of a sissy, and don’t like the idea of suffering, so the way I have been thinking is that through God’s preservation, His powerful working, one may escape the power of the sword. For Jesus word can not be broken, and He said:

Mar 11:22-24 Have faith in God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it. Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

There are going to be many mountains at this time, things which will destroy and kill, but as Christ’s children He has given you precious promises. I wonder if these can be used to avoid trouble. If we can trust in God’s preserving power.

The bible suggests even when people do persecute the church, that there is a degree of preservation, the bible says:

Luk 21:16-18 But ye shall be delivered up even by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. And not a hair of your head shall perish.

“not a hair of your head shall perish”, so I would say ask God in faith to preserve you, to keep you safe from pain of torture, through His preserving promises. If God can blind an army for Elisha, or provide food for the hungry widow, what can he not do for you, to preserve you and keep you safe from those who would deprive you of provision, or seek your harm.

2Ki 6:18 As the Syrian army came closer, Elisha prayed, "LORD, make those soldiers blind!" And the LORD blinded them with a bright light.

1Ki 17:14-15 For this is the word of the Lord, the God of Israel: The store of meal will not come to an end, and the bottle will never be without oil, till the day when the Lord sends rain on the earth. So she went and did as Elijah said; and she and he and her family had food for a long time.

So I hope I don’t suffer, or have to go through the hard things, but if I do then I pray that I will not turn back. Like the Hebrew children who would not bow before the false god that Nebuchadnezzar set up, saying “Our God can deliver us, but if He does not we will not serve your gods”. So too let’s stand in faith believing God will preserve us alive, if not then may he receive praise through the trial.

The great "tribulation" time will come after the translation of the Church ("bride" of Christ) up to Heaven quickly "...in a moment in the twinkling of an eye" as the Bible shows. Our Creator-God will not pour out judgment on the bride of Christ. God's judgments will fall on the world with the reign of Satan, and the two "beasts" (wicked men possessed by Satan) will rule with extreme cruelty for seven years, as the Bible shows. One can learn more about this at the web site: Biblecounsel.net, if interested for inquiry about the prophetic picture.

It is urgently important that souls receive God's "...so great salvation" now (note John 14), for the translation of the Church could occur today; for all things have been concluded in Scripture to bring forth that event. I personally feel the faithful saints now will not be here much longer ---likely within a decade, but "...no one knows the day nor hour" as God said. The "born again" believers just keep being faithful and honoring God, and trying to be a good witness 'til that hour.

This is an interesting topic to have in mind. I do believe we are closing by this time more and more, I also thought this way in the early 2000's. But you see the changes everywhere, going gradually toward this.

I have been having in mind that there is a possibility that God will bring some of us Christians together in a secure place, perhaps this can or will happen in groups too in each area, where Christians with different skills and talents are brought together in a secured place where God is protecting them. Among them there can be a doctor, carpenters, cooks, tailors, fishermen, hunters etc... Well provided for by God. There can also be people with more than just one skill/talent too. This place may also be a safe haven for some new believers coming to faith who haven't taken the mark of the beast too. Whether it happens totally like this way or not, I still think it is wise learning as much as you can as a way of survival, in case we would enter such a time like this. It is good being well-prepared on beforehand.

If it comes to the point that you will have to suffer for your faith, as well as dying for your faith in Jesus Christ. We should always be prepared for that this can happen too, and to not have any fear for this. I believe God will be giving us of His peace if this is something we will have to go through with, and we will be standing there in Jesus Christ's strenght! It should really be an honour having to suffer as well as dying for Christ, knowing that you will be seeing Him soon after this!

I am still no great example with this yet, having had some "blows" from the enemy through spiritual warfare attacks but done to me physically, I have been complaining and grieving about it. Now I am learning to embrace it more, it is a physically "new me", though I still need help from God to see myself in a better light, as He sees me. I do want to become a good example, and better prepared for the times in front of us which I do believe are going to become tougher for true Christian believers.

What's truly the most important is to keep on trusting in God, and believing in His promises as well as in God's Word! No matter what happens to us, we should just keep on trusting in Him, as He cares for us! He will always be there with us, and helping us as well as strenghtening us! Also to keep in mind that His Will should be done in our lives, and not our's! Like a quote I read online says; "If He brings us to it, He will bring us through it!" :amen:

Although the bible describes that many Christians will be killed during the tribulation,
You need to make a different between those who will be saved (the wise virgins) and those who will be left (foolish virgins).
God will shorten the sinful end times situation just to save the ELECT (wise virgins)
Matt 24:22 "If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the ELECT those days will be shortened.

Mark 13:27 And then he will send out the angels and gather His ELECT from the four winds

Do you think Jesus will gather the Elect corpses or gather them alive ?

Yes that was informative, also I'll add this.

Yup, Christians live through the first 5 seals (hence Jesus saying in Matthew 24:4-9 that we are to "Take heed... see that ye be not troubled [and know that] Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation", which are events that parallel the seals in Revelation 6:1-10) during which "many stumble" (Matthew 24:10).

Then ""immediately after the tribulation of those days" (Matthew 24:29) God comes in the clouds (Matthew 24:30-31 1 Thessalonians 4:16) at the sixth seal (Revelation 6:16) which cannot happen before the aforementioned stumbling (2 Thessalonians 2:1 2 Thessalonians 2:3).

We live now in a time of increasing hostility to Christianity. Not simply of one denomination fighting with another, but with secular humanistic antitheism pushing a society that is the polar opposite of the "hater" Bible.

So much so that I do wonder on the need of a temporary physical ark...

To be quite honest ... I am not so certain we are entering a time of tribulation ... I really don't know one way or another. I seem lately every six months or so get worried that we are ... then I think we are not. "double minded", seems to fit very well.

Maybe I should ask the LORD rather than assuming all the time.
