Edit: Please remember to do your own diligent research on doctrines/prophecies that God has given us. Make sure everything lines up with what God has revealed to you. I may be wrong and do not want anyone to believe something as not %100 true, so please do your further research of your own and let God teach you.

There is no literal physical third temple that will be built.
The third temple doctrine comes from 2 Thessalonians 2:4.
"Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so
that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God."

It indeed is speaking of the man of sin, the false messiah, the Antichrist.
But it is not speaking of a literal temple.

Here is commentary from Ellicott on 2 Thessalonians 2:4.
"Though the image is drawn from the Jewish temple, we may say with some confidence that
St. Paul did not expect the Antichrist as a prose fact to take his seat in that edifice.
Neither is the metaphor to be pressed into a mere synonym of "the Church" (1Corinthians 3:17).
The words, so far need not necessarily mean that the Man of Sin will make special
claims upon the Christian community as such. Rather, the whole phrase, "taking his seat in the
temple of God," is a poetical or prophetical description of usurping divine prerogatives
generally: not the prerogatives of the true God alone, but whatever prerogatives have been offered
to anything "called God." Though the prophecy might be fulfilled without any symbolical
act (e.g., of assuming any material throne), yet the spontaneousness ("himself") and the openness
("showing himself") seem so essentially parts of the prophecy as of necessity to imply that the
Man of Sin will make formal claim to occupy that central seat in men's minds and aspirations
which is acknowledged to be due to God alone. The formal making of this claim seems to be identical
with the apocalypse of the Man of Sin, the act by which he is manifested or revealed."

So what does this mean in layman's terms? It means that Antichrist is going to be revealed in
a very grandiose way, as the Lord Jesus Christ will when He comes in the clouds and every eye will see Him.
So shall the Antichrist come, everyone will see him and know of him. All those that are not the true elect
of God will be deceived by the false messiah, the Antichrist into believing that he really is the messiah, that
he really is God. In their minds, which is what the temple of God in this scripture is referring to,
the minds of men and women, in their minds the Antichrist will actually be God to them.

So there is no end time 7 year tribulation period, and there is no literal physical third temple.
What are we looking for? Were looking for the revealing of the false messiah, the Antichrist.
He will deceive many into believing that he is the messiah, that he is God.
God's true elect, those that strictly obey His word, His commandments, His will in this life, that
have made a sacrifice of their lives to devote it to God, to live for God and not themselves, these Christians
will be martyred for their faith. Very few will survive to the end of the world when the Lord returns to
be caught up in the rapture.

Thanks for making this point.

I made a similar point in a thread late last year.

The thread is Paul's Man of Sin Doesn't Enter the Jewish Temple.

I don't see this as an either/or situation.

God offered the Messiah to the Jews, and they rejected Him. And they suffered their tribulation for it in 70 ad.

God then offered the Christ to the world, and the world is rejecting Him. And the world will suffer it's tribulation in the days to come (which are rapidly approaching).

I do believe there will be a third temple involved in that process.

There has to be another temple in order for the daily sacrifice to be stopped.

Jesus returns to the Mt. of Oives (Act 1:9-12) which will split apart, Zechariah 14:4 The Mt. Olives is a stone's throw from the temple mount.

Zechariah 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

On the temple mount, where there will be the 70th week temple standing, will be the beast, the false prophet, and Satan, when Jesus returns to stand on the Mt. of Olives. The temple mount, and immediate vicinity will be epicenter of Jesus's return.

Surrounded by the armies of the world. Take a look at Revelation 19:11-20:3.

I dont believe the self proclaiming Jews of modern day Israel are truly of the blood lineage of true Jews. I believe they were dispersed and lost just as the other 10 tribes of Israel. No research has given me confidence to the contrary.

Who preserved the hebrew language, and culture, and religion, other than Jews?

Israel became a nation again in one day May 14, 1948, fulfilling Isaiah 66:8.

8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

The Jews (Judaism) are looking for their King of Israel. Someone, other than Jesus.

Many of the Jews believe the person will come following Gog/Magog. Which is actually when the person coming in his own name, will arrive.

No one is sitting on David's throne - and hasn't been since King Solomon.

There have been 3 kings over united Israel. The nation split into two nations following Solomon.

Saul and David, anointed king by Samuel the prophet. Solomon, anointed king by Nathan the prophet.

For that reason, the Jews (Judaism) believe "the" messiah will be anointed by a known prophet.

Which by tradition, at their passover meal they set a dinner place for
Elijah - who they believe will come to prepare for the messianic age.

Which the false prophet in Revelation 13, calls fire down from heaven, in similitude to Elijah in his battle with the prophets of baal.

So it would appear that early on the false prophet will claim to be Elijah, and will be the one who anoints the prince who shall come - as the King of Israel. Which is what actually makes the person the Antichrist - for a while, until the Jews get shocked by his claim of having achieved God-hood. Which they will then reject him from continuing as their King of Israel - ending the person's time of being in the role of the Antichrist.

His following role will be the revealed man of sin, and then later the beast, the 8th king of the Roman Empire. i.e. dictator of the EU.

Thank you for the history lesson but the question is...how are they a nation as according to that to which you quoted from another man if they have no son of King David... sitting upon the throne of David...
which is required to be a nation as according to that same one you have quoted as being fulfilled?

Israel became a nation again, in the land of Israel, on May 14, 1948. They are a united country again, no longer two nations divided north and south. Partially fulfilling Ezekiel 37 as well, the two sticks grasped in one hand.

Was the earth made to bring forth in one day? No. Neither was it prophesying that a nation should be brought forth in a day. It is speaking of the new Israel, Christians.

"In looking for the fulfillment of this, we naturally turn the attention to the rapid progress of the gospel in the times of the apostles, when events occurred as sudden and as remarkable as if the earth, after the desolation of winter or of a drought, should be covered with rich luxuriance in a day, or as if a whole nation should start into existence, mature in all its institutions, in a moment." In the NT we read of thousands of converts at once. And who knows the innumerable multitudes not recorded.

In Ezekiel 39, following the destruction of Gog's army, and the burial of Gog's army, and the seven years that follow - is the Armageddon feast in Ezekiel 39:17-20 corresponding to Revelation 19:17-18.

In Ezekiel 39:21-29 is Jesus Himself speaking in the text, having returned to the earth (in the future).

He is recounting why the House of Israel went into exile into the nations. Because they transgressed against Him.

Now does that apply to Christians in your notion that "new" Israel are Christians? No, of course not.

Christians are not new Israel. Where are you finding the term "new Israel" in the bible?

As an actual stone temp'll e still standing when Paul wrote his epistles. And yet, even while temple stood, Paul was already writing about "non-physical temples of God" - like US.

No need for 3rd stone temple to be built, 2 Thess 2 can refer to metaphorical temple

And it does. 2 Thessalonians 2:4 is a "naos" (Greek) temple. In every instance where Paul employs "naos" in his epistles, he is referring to the spiritual temple of the believer, collectively, the Church.

It was within the Church that the man of sin took up spiritual residence.

Isaiah 66:8 prophesies the birth of the NT Christian Church:

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Confirmed in:

Acts 2
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

and in:

Matthew 21
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

and in:

1 Peter 2
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Thank you for the fine example of wood, hay, and stubble works.

Paul tells us the resurrections are shadowed by the wheat and barley harvests. He tells us when these take place as well. There are three phases given to us for the harvest, the first is the firstfruits where a sheaf of grain is waved in the air to the Lord, an act of ascension. This was fulfilled with the resurrection of Jesus as well as some saints who also rose with Him (Matthew 27) as we see on the day Firstfruits.

Paul then tells us the 2nd phase is at his return. The 2nd phase of the harvest was when everything but the edges, or gleanings, was reaped. This is what we've come to call the pretrib rapture, when the dead in Christ are raised and the living are translated. This will most likely occur on Pentecost for many reasons, not the least of which is this is the only feast in Leviticus 23:22 that is associated with the main phase of the harvest. The third Paul tells us is at the end. This gathering of the gleanings in the resurrection you post-tribbers seem to concentrate on, ignoring the first phase 2,000 years ago and excusing the 2nd phase soon to come with as the main harvest. Like the other two, this occurs on a feast day as well, the Feast of Trumpets.

Your doctrine is inconsistent with Paul as well as the type and shadow of the harvest given to us by the Lord Himself.
