I dont' care about the House & Senate. I just want the Republicans to win the governorships in AZ, GA, & MI. I have ties to all 3 states & I hate seeing them in Democrat control.

I cannot wait until November, but will this country survive for that long is the real question at the rate things are going. I don't think the current administration could wreck things more if they tried.

The critical pedagogy garbage (i.e. wokeness) is infiltrating everywhere, so I'm not at all surprised that the poison is showing up at CPAC as well. In November, I'm not just going to vote for someone because he or she is Republican, but also going to find out to the best of my ability where they stand on these issues. A lot of it happens because people really don't know what it is until it's already ingrained somewhere.

Sadly, it's infiltrating churches as well and not just those that people may define as "liberal", such as CRT in the Southern Baptist Convention.

So, there doesn't seem to be a good social conservative option this election. Trump's probably the closest, but even he's not really a social conservative.
I am not as dyed-in-the-wool social conservative but I still gravitate that way and we both share common enemy in the radical left.
I am a little bit socially conservative, libertarian on some issues, constitutionalism, a mix of things.

We need a true social orthodox, not another "conservative" that merely stops liberals from more extreme policy for a few years.

And that doesn't exist so here we all are.
Do you mean Orthodox Christianity or what is it?

The social values when Jesus walked the earth, were the most natural and correct ones in general. The values of the 1960's is how we reached clown world in the first place. And would not be enough to prevent social liberalism because it wasn't good enough before.

I'm really only socially conservative with abortion. I otherwise couldn't care less about social issues and the culture war if I didn't think the left went too far with it.

While I might dispute that the values that Jesus taught were always natural, the rest of that analysis is correct.

The one thing that might make me even more angry are those who even mildly suggest that we return to the previous status quos are called extremists or nazis, or even worse they are actually persecuted and marginalized by society. I don't think there is a way clown world will ever be resolved, not peacefully anyway.

I wonder if the question really will be how will conservative and adjacent thinkers survive and be successful in a society that is hostile to them and wouldn't mind seeing them die, and the technology for oppressing people is getting much greater, even beyond our comprehension. And I am frightened of our country falling. It's like the ultimate loss of a loved one.

There are extremists on both sides religious and otherwise. As tribalism increases and they find each other you'll realize how far we've gone. If your position breeds hostility the sensible thing is to exercise discrimination when sharing your views. No one can read your mind.
