  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Psalms 94:1-7 God of vengeance1, show Yourself. Repay the arrogant as they deserve. Rise now and judge the earth, give to the godless their just penalty. Lord: How long will the wicked exult? Evildoers oppress Your chosen peoples.. They say: The Lord does not see, the God of Jacob pays no heed.

Isaiah 42:14-15 Long have I restrained Myself2, I kept silence and held Myself in check, now I am like a woman in labour, as in the throes of childbirth. I shall lay waste to the land, dry up rivers and lakes will become deserts.

Psalms 102:13 & 19-20 You will arise and have mercy on Zion, for it is time to pity her. The appointed time has come3. The Lord looks down from His sanctuary on high and surveys the earth. He hears the supplications of the exiles and will set free those threatened with annihilation.

Psalms 78:65-66 Then the Lord awoke as a sleeper awakes4, as a warrior suddenly disturbed. He struck His foes and defeated them, to their eternal shame.

Psalms 2:4-9 The Lord, enthroned in the heavens5 laughs and derides His enemies. Angrily He rebukes them and in His wrath, He devastates the nations, shattering them like a clay pot.

Psalms 11:4-6 The Lord is on His throne in heaven5. He observes all people and judges them. He hates those who love violence. He will rain fiery coals and brimstone upon the wicked peoples6; scorching winds will be their sentence.

Psalms 50:1-5 Our God is coming and will not keep silent. A consuming fire runs ahead of Him and around Him a great storm rages6.

Psalms 18:13 The Lord thundered from the heavens5, He raised His voice amid hail and glowing coals. He hurled forth arrows of lightning6 and sped them to their mark.

Joel 1:15, 2 Peter 3:10, Malachi 4:1, Zeph. 3:8, Isaiah 13:9, Isaiah 66:15-16, Jer. 9:22 The Day is near, the Day of the Lord it comes, as a mighty destruction from the Almighty. On that unexpected Day, the sky will be dispersed with a great noise and the earth will be enveloped in flames7. All peoples will be brought to judgement and many will die.
Ref; REB. Some verses abridged.

1/ We know God as a God of love, but also of justice and this means that He must exact a just punishment onto those who deny Him and ignore His commands. Nahum 1:2, Isaiah 1:24, Romans 1:18

2/ The Lord has kept out of world affairs and allowed people to follow their own desires. This is our free will choice. Isaiah 64:7, Eccl. 8:5-7, Psalms 89:46, 1 Thess. 4:6-8

3/ God has a plan and all that is prophesied will come to pass at its appointed time. Isaiah 46:10, Psalms 33:10-11

4/ The Lord springs into action! Haggai 2:21-22, Amos 5:9, Joel 2:11, Psalms 144:5-6
As He did in ancient times; Psalms 83:9-18. Revelation 6:12-17

5/ This event is NOT the Return, the Lord stays in His sanctuary. Psalms 7:6-16, Isa 60:1-3

6/ The great Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, prophesied over 100 times throughout the Bible, the Day of punishment on the nations, triggered by an attempted attack by Iran, sending nuke missiles onto the State of Israel. Zechariah 5:1-10, Psalms 83:1-18, Habakkuk 3:12, Isaiah 34:1-5

7/ The only logical explanation for a worldwide fire, is a Coronal Mass Ejection, an explosion of the suns surface. This is confirmed by Isaiah 30:26 and Malachi 4:1.

A CME of unprecedented magnitude will strike the earth, the mass of superheated hydrogen plasma will fulfil all the prophesied effects: in the sky, heat, smoke, electrical, volcanic, earthquakes and the loss of our modern infrastructure. Deuteronomy 32:22 & 34-35, Ezekiel 21:10, 2 Peter 3:7, Revelation 6:12-17

What is actually 'private' about what I post? I quote and explain scripture, Bible verses that ae Written in everyone's Bbles.

As for why others don't agree, the Lord tells us several times, that those who choose to believe false theories and fables, they will be blinded to the truth and it will only be after the Lord has taken action that they will finally understand. Isaiah 35:4b-5

There is plenty of precedent for one person to know the truth and all the rest to despise him.
Luckily for me, I do not have to confront my adversaries, otherwise I would be dead under a pile of stones!

I applaud your stamina!
I laugh at your intransigence.

Psalms 10:1-11 Lord: Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble? The godless boast of their plans, but their ways are always devious. They are full of deceit and violence, reviling Your people and thinking: Their God has forgotten, He sees nothing.

Psalms 10:12-15 Lord; break the power of the wicked and evil peoples, call them to account. Arise now and set Your Hand to the task. Do not forget Your people. The godless reject You, they think You will take no action. Lord, You see how they love terror and death, we commit ourselves to You – the Light and salvation of Your people. [The Lord’s peoples; -all the faithful Christians]

Psalms 9:7-14 The Lord will judge all peoples with justice. He is a tower of strength for the oppressed. Show us Your favour, do not ignore our cry for help, then we will praise You and proclaim Your mighty deeds, for You do not abandon those who acknowledge Your Name and seek You in faith.

Psalms 9:15-20 The nations are trapped in a pit of their own making, entangled in their own net. The Lord will display His power and all the peoples who refuse to acknowledge the Living God, will depart to hell. The hopes and prayers of Your people will be realized, as You fulfil Your promises to them. For the Lord will arise and judge the nations, they will know they are only mortal.

Psalms 10:17-18 You hear, Lord, the supplications of the humble, support them and bring redress. Answer now the prayers of the righteous, so that those who promote terror receive their just deserts.

Psalms 9:2-6 We will praise You, Lord with all our hearts, we will rejoice and exult in You. For You have upheld our rights. You have rebuked the nations and overwhelmed the godless peoples. They are defeated, they fall and perish, totally wiped out, even the memory of them is lost.

Psalms 10:16 The evil peoples have gone from Your holy Land and the Lord will reign forever! Deut. 32:43
Ref: REB. Some verses abridged and paraphrased.

The Lord WILL arise and judge the nations. Psalms 94:1-7, Isaiah 33:10-12, Hab. 3:12

The Lord WILL display His power: A massive CME sunstrike will cause all the prophesied effects. Isaiah 30:26-28, Deut. 32:34-35, Psalms 97:3-5, Isaiah 33:10-12

The prayers of His people WILL be realized. 1 Peter 1:5, as You punish the ungodly nations. Isaiah 13:9-13, Nahum 1:2-6, Revelation 6:12-17

Those peoples and nations who are full of deceit and violence, Psalm 144:7-8, those who love terror and death, Ezekiel 35:6, WILL fall and perish, they WILL depart to hell. Isaiah 66:15-16, Jeremiah 25:30-33

The evil peoples have all gone from Your holy Land.
Jeremiah 12:14, Ezekiel 30:2-9 Your people WILL rejoice and praise the Lord, Jeremiah 33:6-26, as they gather and live in their heritage. Isaiah 40:1-3, Ezekiel 20:34-38, Zechariah 10:8-10, Psalms 107:1-3, Hosea 2:14 & 11:10-11, Ezekiel 37:21, Jeremiah 31:8-9, Zephaniah 3:16-20

The Lord WILL reign forever! Firstly the Shekinah Glory WILL return to the new Temple, Ezekiel 43:4, then later, Jesus will reign for 1000 years. Revelation 20:6 Finally, God and the Lamb WILL be eternally throned in the New Jerusalem. Revelation 22:1-5

So, you don't think God is capable of supernaturally sending fire down on the entire world? That is exactly what 2 Peter 3:10-12 indicates. Do you think the fire that came down on Sodom and Gomorrah was caused by a Coronal Mass Ejection?

Of course God can supernaturally send fire and that is just what He will do to destroy the attackers at the end of the Millennium. Revelation 20:9
But He will use His Creation, the sun on the terrible Day of the Lords wrath. This has to be a natural event, so as the ungodly peoples who survive will still be able to deny God and worship the 'beast'.
Do you think the fire that came down on Sodom and Gomorrah was caused by a Coronal Mass Ejection?
I have been to the site of ancient Sodom & G. It is clear they were destroyed by volcanic activity.

No one will survive what is described in 2 Peter 3:10-12, which will happen on the day the Lord Jesus Christ comes as a thief in the night.

I have been to the site of ancient Sodom & G. It is clear they were destroyed by volcanic activity.
Such foolishness. Scripture is clear that God supernaturally sent fire down on Sodom and Gomorrah. It wasn't a volcano. Ridiculous. I can't take you seriously. Do you also think that God didn't supernaturally turn Lot's wife into a pillar of salt?

Genesis 19:23 The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Zoar. 24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens.

Are there volcanos in the heavens? Obviously not. This makes it clear that the Lord supernaturally sent fire down from the heavens upon Sodom and Gomorrah. The effects might have been similar to the effects of a volcano for all I know, but the scripture is clear that God supernaturally sent fire down upon Sodom and Gomorrah. I know that you want to be taken seriously, but you can't be taken seriously with ridiculous claims like you made here that obviously contradict scripture.

One liners like this, have no credibility at all.

Ref; REB. Some verses abridged.

1/ We know God as a God of love, but also of justice and this means that He must exact a just punishment
He will. It's called judgement day. That's when he can perfectly judge every human being who has ever lived, alive or dead, before his throne. That's what happens when the Lord returns. Judgment day. There is no other day when the Lord returns.

It's once and for all and forever

2/ The Lord has kept out of world affairs and allowed people to follow their own desires.
Not entirely because of the growth of the church!

This is our free will choice. Isaiah 64:7, Eccl. 8:5-7, Psalms 89:46, 1 Thess. 4:6-8
You're misquoting of the psalms above too support your weird position have already given me a headache, I dread to think what you would make of an advanced philosophical concept like free will from these verses! Please.

3/ God has a plan and all that is prophesied will come to pass
It will. This is self-evident. What you fail to justify is your position. You keep lecturing us about how the prophecies will be fulfilled, but fail to justify your bizarro world reading of them.

As the Aussie say, pass the dead horse. This means past the tomato sauce. A future historian in 2500 years would do their hermeneutics and understand rhyming slang and learn that we were actually saying to pass the tomato sauce.

You in 2500 years? You would conclude we ate horses regularly.

A CME of unprecedented magnitude
Nope. God loves this material world and will renovate it. He rejoices in the life he made, the creatures and creation and waves and mountains and rocks. When the Lord returns there are images of the elements melting, but there's also images of the new Jerusalem coming down. This universe will be renovated so that it can last forever. This universe and heaven will somehow merge, and I have no idea what the physics of that will be, but physical matter will be part of it and it will be fantastic.

Also don't patronise the Bible. If the author says fire and brimstone it means fire and brimstone doesn't it? They're talking about Sodom and Gomorrah stuff. It's an image of judgement do you get it?

Or do Australians eat horses?

That is the symbol of brimstone should not be read as some modern scientific phenomena you became aware of when you watched Nicholas cage in knowing. The psalmist has their own image in mind and it's not yours. You are wrong. Deal with it.
will strike the earth, the mass of superheated hydrogen plasma
Yes, I saw the end of knowing as well. Pretty cool wasn't it? You know it's not cool? Trying to read it into the Bible.

Wasn't that meant to be - I don't know there's something new with absolute certainty? What was it again?

Oh yeah. With absolute certainty you pronounce you knew the day that the Lord would return.

And 3.5 years before that would be the AOD in the temple in Jerusalem.

How did that work out?

You have failed to demonstrate that you are a prophet.

The worst thing possible happened. History. Time. The passing of events.

And you're laughable timetable just went tick tock into oblivion!

I regard some of your claims as ridiculous, as God used fire and brimstone from under the earth to destroy Sodom and G. Just as He used water from the depths to make Noahs Flood.
I'll tell you what is ridiculous. You making things up. Nowhere does scripture say that "God used fire and brimstone from under the earth to destroy Sodom and G". Instead, it says this...

Genesis 19:23 The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Zoar. 24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens.

Fire came down from above unto Sodom and Gomorrah similar to what is described in Revelation 20:9 where it talks about fire coming down from God.

What you and everyone should do is to take the OP of this thread very seriously.
I don't need you to tell me that. Paul warns us all about being careful to be spiritually awake and sober in anticipation of the coming of the day of the Lord when the wrath of Christ will come down upon all unbelievers to the point where "they shall not escape". And Peter tells us to be careful about how we behave in anticipation of the day of the Lord when the earth will be burned up. I take that seriously.

The Lord has been' hands off' in His Creation for nearly 2000 years. Things are right now getting set up for the Day He will again correct mankind -to a similar degree as He did in the Days of Noah.
Not just similar. The same. Just like in the days of Noah, He will destroy all unbelievers again on the future day of the Lord. Except this time it will be with fire instead of water.

Some like to insist they read the bible's prophesies 'literally' - until they don't.

Apparently I'm in the church of the slain space lamb with 7 eyes and 7 horns.
Revelation is literal - apparently.
Not literary - with known conventions across 24 other Jewish non-canonical works of the period.
It's literal. Apparently. According to the confused 'logic' and wild claims from a fever-dream caused by a bad late night kebab.

Just like in the days of Noah, He will destroy all unbelievers again on the future day of the Lord. Except this time it will be with fire instead of water.
Typically, you conflate the forthcoming terrible Day of the Lords fiery wrath, with the glorious Return.
The next Prophesied event; Revelation 6:12-17, will be by fire and many will be slain by it. Isaiah 66:15-17, 2 Peter 3:7
At the Return of Jesus, there is no fire. Revelation 19:11-21. The corpses remain as food for the carrion birds. Zechariah 14:12

An explanation of your belief that both of those Days are the same, is required.

Typically, you conflate the forthcoming terrible Day of the Lords fiery wrath, with the glorious Return.
Typically, you have no idea of what you're talking about. He will return on the day of the Lord, as passages like 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 and 2 Peter 3:10-12 make abundantly clear. Also, in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 Paul relates the day of the Lord directly with His return. So, you don't have a leg to stand on in this argument.

The next Prophesied event; Revelation 6:12-17, will be by fire and many will be slain by it. Isaiah 66:15-17, 2 Peter 3:7
At the Return of Jesus, there is no fire.
LOL! 2 Peter 3:10-12 proves that wrong, as does the following passage

2 Thessalonians 1:7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

Revelation 19:11-21. The corpses remain as food for the carrion birds. Zechariah 14:12
You taking Revelation 19:11-21 literally says it all. Do you also believe that Jesus will be literally slaying His enemies with a literal sword coming out of His mouth? Do you believe He also will be literally crushing them in the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God? Or do you understand that the literal way in which He will destroy His enemies is not described in that passage?

An explanation of your belief that both of those Days are the same, is required.
They are not different days. You have inexplicably decided to interpret what is very clearly symbolic text literally. That's on you. I can't force you to not do things that make no sense. You need to decide to take your Premil blinders off so that you don't interpret scripture in a way that makes no sense. You need to stop trying to make symbolic text literal just to make it fit your doctrine. That is not how to treat scripture in an honest fashion.

Sorry bud but you're the one that is WAY out on a limb here.
The vast majority of Christian history has 'conflated' these 2 events together.
Because they describe the same event!
I am happy to prove you wrong.
The Day of the Lords Fiery wrath cannot be also the Day Jesus Returns.

Because the Prophesies of His vengeance and wrath, simply do not fit with His glorious Return. Prophesies like Amos 5:18-20 will be the Day of wrath, when He will not be seen; Psalms 18:7-15. +
At the glorious Return, He merely kills the attacking armies of Satan by the power of His Word. Zechariah 14:3-5.
Note; that Zechariah 14:1-2, apply to the mid point of the final 7 years before the Return.

Luckily for me, I do not have to confront my adversaries, otherwise I would be dead under a pile of stones!
I've out lived a good many End Times gurus. The best known was Hal LIndsey, who assured all who listen that our Lord would "Rapture" all Real Christians on or before 1988, because a "generation" was 40 years, and Israel had been reestablished in 1948. QED Patent rubbish end to end, but afaik nobody ever hove a rock at him. And they still bought his books like they were holy writ themselves.

My personal fave was "Brother Stair", a cult leader from down in South Carolina. I listened to him pretty much every evening after work, because I found him entertaining. He predicted that the 1984 presidential election in the US would be the last ever held, because a full on nuclear war (nuclear war was pretty much dogma for American End Timers in the late 20th century) would completely destroy both countries as well as pretty much everybody else (Women and Minorities Hardest Hit as always). When nothing happened by his drop dead date, he took the normal course of claiming it "happened spiritually" and he'd be proven right ere long. Didn't happen, of course, but he did end up in the hoosegow for making free with the young daughters of his followers (imagine that!). No rocks for him, though, although being known for "short eyes" in the pen militates against serving out one's sentence in peace.

People love to hear escapism ideas and how the ungodly get tribulated. Those ideas have an appreciative audience.
Unfortunately for me, I promote the Prophesied hard times ahead for everyone. It does not seem to matter that it is what the Bible says, their response is -
It has already happened; despite there being no historical proof of that.
It is just Spiritual; despite the plain Words about natural physical things.
It is just allegorical or metaphorical, despite being as above.
It won't happen to us Christians, as Jesus won't allow harm to His children, despite the millions of Christian martyrs murdered up to now. Anyway, as I post elsewhere, the Lord Promises protection, not removal.
