10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat;
BOTH the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner
of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the
HEAVENS WILL BE DISSOLVED, being on fire, and the
ELEMENTS WILL MELT with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 2PET3
2THESS-1
6 For[2]
[Lit If indeed ] after all it is
only just for[3]
[Or in the sight of ] God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,
7 and
to give relief to you who are afflicted and[4]
[Lit along with us ] to us as well when[5]
[Lit at the revelation of the Lord Jesus ] the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His[6]
[Lit the angels of His power ] mighty angels in flaming fire,
8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
9 These will pay the penalty of
ETERNAL destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
10 WHEN HE COMES to be glorified in[7]
[Or in the persons of ] His saints[8]
[Or holy ones ] on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believedfor our testimony to you was believed.

6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS:
7 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;
8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation.
9 There will be tribulation and distress for[5]
[Lit upon ] every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek,
10 but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
11 For there is no partiality with God.
It looks to me that it all happens on the day the lord comes, -like a lion, not like a little lamb. dont let him catch you sleeping and be ready to snatch those from the fire. God is holding back the wrath, because he doesnt want any to perish-he is patient with YOU, for all to come to repentance.
5 But because[4][Or in accordance with ] of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, (SO WE ARE STILL HERE IN THE DAY OF WRATH?
