This has been debated, but I believe the seat of the devil spoken of in Rev is Europe. Based on its history i believe this to be true. What are your views. If you disagree that is fine but please provide where you think it is and why. thanks.

maybe you could post some Bible verses that you feel help support this idea or atleast put it in context?
I don't know of bible verse, i was looking for some. I base it on history, sense the seat of the devil has always been the same. Now America is to young which rules that out. The middle east could be. But Rome seems likely. I don't believe the Bible real goes into it, so I am not stating fact but seeking fruit conversation in which i can learn.
caution : i suspect I know where your going and based on scripture -I will not disagree .
but some certain posters will oppose you to the point of a form of hatred if you say it openly .
preferring to cover the truth in a mountain of ambiguity and passionately carnally defend their system ,rather then risk losing control of the masses .
Wait for it, Wait for it..................... Wait for it... ROME

do not jump to accusations against your brothers and sisters in Christ
Rome is a big city, it was home of the Pagan Caesars, countless petty noblemen through the middle ages, and even the Fascists of the 1930's and 40's, so seeing Rome as the earthly seat of evil is not that far fetched, and might not even have anything to do with the institutional Church
as Catholics, we are guests in the Baptist subforum, let us try and be respectful
i'll get some flax for this but I do believe the pope will play a role as false prophet and promoting the anti christ at the end.
Before some people become the great accusers, I am not saying the catholic church is the seat of the devil, if that is what people were getting at, sense everyone who responded in that way was Catholic.
I have heard the Bible points to a restored roman empire. I don't know if it is Rome or all of Europe. Personal opinions is all because Germany saw one of the anti christ.

Yes i am basing it on history but that does not mean it is not biblical because Proverbs says history always repeats.
You believe the Pope will play a role as the false prophet? Where does it say that in the bible or where does it even hint at that in the bible?
By the way, I am not offended in the least by your comments. If anything, I find them kind of humorous.
well happy to entertain you
Again nothing in the Bible points to the pope or really reveals who the false prophet will be, or the man of lawlessness.
Not saying it is this pope either, but I see the pope as having the greatest influence over the most people. In today world the pope is the only one who receives prophet like standing. It seem like if the devil was to pick his prophet he would not start from scratch, but would put his man at the head of some religion. I have also thrown out ideas it could be the dala lama. I don't know for sure just discussing. I think one thing is for sure he will be a well known holy man, and not some beggar who rises from the streets. I use beggar to show a poor state, nothing wrong with beggars i have been one.

Maybe the false prophet will not be a man at all. Maybe it will be false belief, money, power, comforts, an idea, sin.
well, the Bible does state, or at least implies, that most of the world will follow the Anti-Christ
and the Pope is an absolute monarch and the leader of the biggest religion on earth
we believe that the Papacy is protected by the Holy Spirit
but other Christians do not hold this belief
I do not agree with the idea that the Pope at the end times will be a false prophet, I can understand why others might humor this idea
to assume the assumption you do while assuming the assumption you do is merely assuming .
what is really humorous .. is no other denomination replied . no one else has anything to justify in this regard .. interesting isn't it![]()
