I don't really keep track of personalities, but I'm imagining they are trying to get ID to grow beyond the DI, which is what they should have been doing to begin with rather than bothering about high school science teaching.

From what I have seen they still have not done that. The way to do that is to get articles published in well respected professional scientific journals. Scientists are not fooled by fake journals.

Apparently even high school science was too much for them to deal with. Easier to rile up the rubes than do science that actually supports their claims.
