Traditionally, an engagment ring was the fancier ring and the wedding band a simpler ring, and after the wedding they were both worn together. Many women took their rings to the jewelers and had the rings soldered together.Living4Him03 said:On another note, what about wedding ring sets? I don't understand that concept. Could someone please inform me? Is one of the rings the engagement ring and then the other one is the one you get at the actual ceremony and they sort of fit together? That's what it seems to be, but some people just get an engagement ring and then wedding ring later. So what do you do with the engagement ring once you get the wedding ring? I'm a little confused!

But, how do you know the ring size of the woman you are going to ask if you want to keep it a secret? I mean, I don't understand how you can get a ring without the proper ring size. Is there some kind of hidden rule I don't know about? LOL, sorry if this is a dumb question but I have always wondered this.
One thing... ask her mom/best friend what size ring she wears. Average size is 7 I believe. I've also heard that a girls ring size is equal to her shoe size. I don't know how reliable that fact is though.Wild_Fan4Christ said:...the guys can answer my question too...

I've heard of a couple of guys who would get the ring size for another gift (such as an Birthday or Christmas).Wild_Fan4Christ said:...the guys can answer my question too...
