But here's a food for thought, if we give everyone in the world free 100k per year salary under one condition they did not quit their jobs (unless they are no longer capable of working due to health or age reasons), we can all live good quality and comfortable lives...
This doesn't work either. All that you end up with is rampant inflation. And the poor will still be poor.

As Christ said, the poor will always be with you. It's not because of the nature of the system, it's because of the nature of people, and the former can't change the latter.

I'm a programmer, but with a fossil degree & only C/C++ in windows/unix strength at this point :) And given current responsibilities, would just have no time to come up to speed. Maybe you have friends that could do it instead. Your idea just seems too good to let it go to waste.

The biggest tragedy is the fact I only have 2 real friends out of immediate family and they don't know programming!

I won't beat myself over it. Someone, someday in way more advantageous circumstances will be able to do it and even better. There's still plenty of good people out there.

That's exactly my point.

One alternate scenario is we don't have inflation OR hypothetically, wealth is distributed more or less equally but in this scenario, nations will probably fight over resources as individual people will have far greater purchasing power.

No, the point is that they WON'T have greater purchasing power. They'll have more money, and that money will end up in the same place it does now, but because of inflation they won't actually have more purchasing power.

In both cases, the poor as always, the worst affected.

in our area, many churches are giving free food and/or meals...posted on church signs

schools keep collecting food, too
one big "contest" food collection already & another starts next week

our school district has been giving free breakfast & lunch to ALL students, not just lower income
this started in 2020 and continues this year

we also have several "discount" stores selling food and/or goods at low prices; the discount stores are always busy

Plenty of people have reacted badly to it but for the proliferation of the Chinese coronavirus, China is to blame. Period.
Technically, you might be able to assign them some responsibility for its emergence, but as for its proliferation that's squarely on the rest of us.

We don't have any of those were I live. We had hoarding issues at first until the local governments started intervening in the situation and imposing limited purchases in grocery stores. Worked quite well for us.
