Lulav said: Verse 9 says there remains a rest to the people of G-d.
Who is he referring to here?

I wasn't meaning to insult but what other conclusion could one come to?

I basically was asking who were the people of G-d being referred to in that verse and you said the letter is to the Hebrews.

So the only conclusion I can come up with is that The writer of that book was telling the Jews and Israel that they were the people of G-d.

Lulav, you've known me for HOW LONG? Long enough to know that I believe God considers all Christians his children. That's why I was shocked by what you asked. You could have at least worded it a less insulting way like, "Wait a second. It seems to me I remember you believing that all Christians are children of God, and that seems to be contradicted by what you are saying now, because X, Y, and Z."

God has two groups that he calls his children: Israel, and the Church. The fact that this affectionate term is used for both groups does lead to some confusion when reading the Bible.

Actually, the congregation, not the church, is all believers,
not a building or sect. It includes believing Jews, gentiles
and Israel. There is no other group other than unbelievers.

Much of Christianity today is in the second group. They are
the ones who either never believed, or who fell away because
they wanted to follow the world more.

.. Kingdom divided you say.....That is not God's kingdom...
So then what do you say? That only those of the ekklesia are the Children of God? That Israel, which God calls his first born son, is not?

This is one of the most confusing posts I've ever read, and I hope that you will clarify your ideas with me, so that I can understand you.
1. Are you saying that the Church (Ekklesia) is not all believers? Or are you just being cute and substituting congregation for ekklesia where everyone else would say Church?

2. You listed Jews and Israel separately, when in fact Israel is made up of Jews. Can you please clarify this for me?
