It's because they get attention and especially from the other sex when you do. Or, just attention. Being accepted. I don't think it's even conscious many times. But God says, don't be shaped after this world
That's true, but I don't think he necessarily meant shoe styles. I think it's deeper than that. Like you mentioned. Why do you want the heels? Are you trying to get men's sexual attention? Most women would claim not. I've had this discussion about bikinis and the women got down right upset about it. How dare I even remotely suggest they are wearing the skimpiest of clothing in order to get men's attention. I've been told that women don't do that.

Well it's not true that many, not all but many do dress like that at least when they go out for the attention. There's also because everyone else.
They see it everywhere and like sheep to slaughter just go with it no thinking
It's so ingrained they don't question
It's subconscious at this point
But as a experiment they could not wear things like heels, makeup and tight clothes a certain amount of days, and note what's happening mentally, socially and spiritually!
Someone should, and document. It would be an interesting study

I have personally heard friends say they dress like that including heels because attention and get a guy.
Then it was what they were condition to as well, and as it was everywhere they didn't question
Personally I don't like to dress off in front of others with clothes, and I don't even think that looks nice and I don't care about attention

It's sold everywhere.
It's made as desirable.
It's socially acceptable.
Other women encouraged it
It's in media, tv celebs
Men do give attention
It does encourage lust
I'm thinking jezebel

Think about what happened in Spain where the citizens are creating demonstrations and rules been made because people the tourists like to take beach wear into restaurants and the streets and as well fornication, to the point they have restricted access areas. And the tourists are fighting back mad as no other. If this doesn't show a deeper issue..

High heels are bad for your feet and your back.

High heels are bad for every bone in your body.

Because they cause you to walk incorrectly.
That’s pretty much been proven but I still wear them on occasion.

High heels are a male conspiracy to ensure that women's knees are kept as far as possible from the ground.

That's not the women's fault though
It is nobody's fault. Men think about sex a lot. We always have, always will. I cannot speak for women but I reckon maybe they sometimes think about sex too.

It is a part of being human.

Actually high heels are designed for the mating game. They are designed to tilt the pelvis forward and curve the body to make women appear more attractive. So its evolutionary.

Obviously that is not always the intention of women that wear high heeels but that is what high heels are designed to do and the signal that goes out to males as a mating strategy. Its an example of how culture and evolution have intersected.

While high heels do have that physical affect on the spine, I think that explanation is retrofit to a practice that started for other reasons.

As I mentioned earlier, the introduction of high heels into European fashion originated with men. When it transferred to women, women's derrieres were already too well "bustled" for the difference to be noted. When the bustle went out of fashion so did, for a while, obvious derrieres...the "flat look" was in style for a while.

During my youth and interest as a photographer, it was pointed out by glamour and pin-up photographers of the 40s-70s that the attractiveness of high heels for women was for what it did to exemplify their calves, not their derrieres. That was the period that women's hemlines were rising ever higher and calves became generally visible.

Today...it's more the derriere (again). I think that study is a modern explanation for a phenomenon that had a different origin and history.

Well we can thank Roger Vivier for the kitten heel. A nice business move. From what I read, itwas presented a training heel for young teens preparing them for the high heel/stiletto. Also a sculpture/piece of art. Kind of creepy though when you think about it. But I do love a kitten heel with a nice pair of distressed jeans, etc. Audrey Hepburn wore them in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

High heels were created for Rock and Roll for bands like Kiss to really look the part and before them for Glam Rockers like Bowie and New York Dolls lol.

I think they must be the work of the Devil.

We, of course, walk the path of righteousness. In flat shoes.

I heard that the devil wears Prada once. I don't know if that's related though.

As I mentioned earlier, the introduction of high heels into European fashion originated with men.

King's were fashionistas in the past. They wore heels and elaborate garments as did members of their court. It was expected. They were dressed by couturiers which we refer to as couture in modern times. Much like before it exemplifies the finest workmanship, materials and handwork.

Heels accentuate the legs. If you want to draw the eye elsewhere you highlight the waist which brings the hips in sight. That's why corsets have risen in popularity. Prior to that it was the body dress. You can accomplish the same through padding but snatching the waist is different. That requires a shaper for the day or tight lacing for a permanent effect. That's why the hourglass is so desirable.
