  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When women wear them for special occasions, or otherwise choose to wear them now and then, that's fine with me. High heels are a shoe style that works well with certain outfits. If she wears them infrequently, or when she isn't doing much walking, they are unlikely to cause foot problems.

Regarding attention seeking behavior, if I wore suits everyday I would get more attention from women. They aren't part of my everyday rotation, but some situations call for me to wear a suit. It's also nice to have the option if I simply feel like it.

That's basically my attitude toward high heels. While I wouldn't recommend or expect a woman to wear them everyday, they have a place in her wardrobe.

I equate heel sartorially with wearing a tie. If she wears heels, I'll wear a tie. Actually, I tend to wear ties somewhat more often than my wife wears heels, but if the situation calls for her to wear heels, it certainly calls for me to wear a tie.

High heels were created for Rock and Roll for bands like Kiss to really look the part and before them for Glam Rockers like Bowie and New York Dolls lol.
Kudos for posting a Dolls photo, but let's not forget Fee Waybill and Elton John.

Lol good one. But I think Eltons are more Punk or Skin Head boots. Actually I think clowns where those kind of boots as well which denotes the opposite of skin heads.

So groups can co-op fashion and then attach a new meaning to them. Its interesting how something like shoes can have so much cultural meaning.
