High heels are bad for your feet and your back.

High heels are bad for every bone in your body.

Because they cause you to walk incorrectly.
Uncomfortable as heck ..... I prefer flip flops myself LOL

From what I can see, high heels are the primary cause of bunions.
Quite right, not very attractive.

My granma came from the Tennessee hill country where she walked barefoot or wore men's boots so moving to Michigan in the 1900's she wanted to leave her barefoot or men's boots days behind. That also meant that lower heeled shoes for women were not for her. She wore 2' thick heel shoes (servicable not fashionable) even when they went out of style she had them custom-made. I can't blame her for her choices in that era. She wore such shoes even though she had a spinal curvature that made her legs somewhat uneven. The heels were exacerbating her spinal problem but regardless she refused to wear the more comfortable lower heeled shoes.

Sometimes for giggles I picture what she might've looked like wearing tennis shoes as my mother did on her casual clothing days.

I just can't do it. If I have, it's been temporary, and a lot of suffering. I'm on walk all the time so it's not practical. It's all for attention and fit in anyway. Or programmed to think it's nice. Well if you don't suffer. At my age I don't compromise comfort. I don't care what people think

Then again, why not?

Because they are the Devil's shoes!
True. Studies made said men have been programmed through media to think it's sexy. How the sound and how you walk leads them to think about sex. It's right there.

They are just an extension of the patriarchy to keep women as sex objects.

That said, women have been using them against men for decades to take the shoes back.

And they are impractical.
Women like them just as much as men do if not more. They wear them all the time, choose them in the stores. Women like how they look.

Yes they are impractical. That's why a lot of women also carry sneakers to put on for long walks.

I've got 5 girls in my family and I can tell you that they all love the heels. Only for certain occasions though. I've been with them as they have looked at the heels and spent time admiring them and thinking how nice they look. They all have them. They will all tell you they aren't that comfortable. But they still will wear them.

Do all women wear them? Nope. Do all women wear them all the time? Nope. But jeez can we stop blaming men for women's shoe choices?

Is it also men's fault when women wear bikinis? Or men's fault when women wear revealing clothing?

We are told today that women are independent and liberated and men have no say and should keep their eyes to themselves. Yet we are going to turn around and blame men for women's shoe choices these days? C'mon it's 2024.

It's a cultural programming and environment social. They didn't in different times.
As an example, look at how fashion has changed and what was in or accepted. Everything from clothes to body shapes. It just proves it's indoctrinated. From society, media especially, peer pressure is huge. It's so many areas. So it's not conscious many times either. It's not enough to just say it's because we like it.

It's because they get attention and especially from the other sex when you do. Or, just attention. Being accepted. I don't think it's even conscious many times. But God says, don't be shaped after this world

Well I can't argue with that. It's always been that way. For men and women. In all societies everywhere throughout history. It's not going to change any time soon. I remember when parachute pants were in style. Or bell bottom jeans. Just look at the fashions of the1400s or the 1920s.

Yes we are all indoctrinated by our society in regards to clothes, hairstyles, body types etc. It's ALWAYS been that way. Everywhere all the time.

I do wish the fedora would come back in style though.

I'm like if it's encouraging a false narrative and lust it's definitely time to stop encouraging it
