I did not, but we do plan on visiting Bethel in the near future.

Well it is ten and a half hours from Bethel to San Diego, driving, but might well be worth it. message if interested.

There have been saints in the past who learned this lesson the hard way with GOD. We don't take credit for what GOD does through us with the gifts of healings. It is always His decision in these matters and we are just a conduit for His greatness.

Can GOD trust you if He rests His power upon you?

Will you allow folks to praise you until you start looking at yourself instead of GOD?

Trust is earned with GOD. He knows our limitations and wants to excel past them to witness to the world, but He must be able to trust that we have our focus on Him and not ourselves.

So yes, in that sense, it is earned.

Interesting conclusion.

In the light of Romans 11:6, if the gift of healing is earned, can it still be considered a gift in your view?

Did I say the gift was earned?

Your conclusion?

Aren't you reasoning that, if God can trust you, he will give you the gift of healing?

So if trust is to be earned, then the gift is not?
Is that what I said?

Lazarus and Paul's thorn are not even close to the same thing
You're correct. Lazarus was the result of GOD utilizing the working of miracles gift to bring him back to life, Paul's thorn was just a fallen angel buffeting him to keep him from pride.

Two separate and different things.

If p then q is equivalent to saying not q implies not p
Did I say anything about the gifts of healings? You keep saying that I did, but did I?

Now do you see me mentioning the gifts of healing anywhere in that response to Sunlover?

I'll buy you a vowel Vanna,.... I was talking about the power of GOD, not the gifts of healings.

Some people find this hard to believe or understand, but The Holy Spirit placed inside of us is not ultimately the power of GOD. Yes He provides us a strength and such inside, but there is another step that Jesus took that we must take also,....

Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luk 4:19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Jesus has the title of Christ/Messiah, that means The Anointed-One in the Greek. We are to seek out and receive from GOD this same sort of anointing upon our heads as Jesus had, if we want to have an office/ministry that involves the power gifts, such as the gifts of healings.

We see Jesus promise this to the disciples,...

Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

This promise is ours to receive also.

It's not enough to just be filled with The Spirit and have His gifts. The greater gifts of healing, working of miracles, and faith will not operate in our lives to any real extent unless we have The Holy Spirit resting upon us, and that takes His anointing being placed upon our heads first. It is He Who operates them to GOD's glory, not us.

This is what the old Saints had who pursued it, the ones who realized it and had the faith to step beyond what they already had.
Are you referring to the baptism of the Holy Spirit that paul spoke of?

Then why did the gathered pray "extend YOUR hand to heal" in Acts 4:30
forgive me if I misspoke.
I try to stick w the Scriptures but I'm still trying to learn this new CF format too.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

You deemed the gift of healing as an example of power.gifts.

Now you rather separate those 2 words? Alright then

Healing, sometimes immediate and sometimes over time, two personal experiences and a video.

(1) 10years ago or so, I had serious stomach issues that the Doctors or specialists could not help me with, always a problem.

One typical evening with wifee chasing the kids around downstairs and me on the bed upstairs watching tv. One of my favorite shows, Sid Roth had a lady on, Katherine Ruonala. At 22:45 Sid asks Katherine to pray for everyone and from there to 23:50 my stomach issue was healed.

As always when someone is going to pray I am all in, hands in the air as I lay on the bed watching the tv on the wall. I was not praying for myself, but along with Katherine ....... I felt something forceful on my stomach which even moved the bed up and down a little, when I looked I saw finger sized impressions pushing on my stomach ........ I was almost afraid at first and closed my eyes again, thinking to myself no way. Sure enough, my stomach has not had a problem since praise God!

That's a powerful demonstration of His Glory!

At church once I was prayed over for a lump
it was gone bam

Another time I sought the Lord for healing of a debilitating injury.
2 years later as I was worshiping Him BAM I was healed.
Bam bam bam lol
Thank you Jesus!!

No,.... you are the one who added to my subject. My reply and subject to Sunlover was about the power of GOD and The Holy Spirit resting upon you.

Maybe you shouldn't try to pin someone in a corner all the time with their words and actually pay attention to what people are saying. It would help you greatly.

I knew someone once years ago on here that was well known for doing that. I guess they are no longer around though. Made for rather difficult conversation
