I think of 1 Peter 3:4 >So my questions that I would like to present for discussion is what power do you see in scripture that we seldom live out in the flesh? How can we live in that power? And why do we not see that the power of the revelation is just that, the power to reveal who Christ is and that the real power is greater?
"rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4)
The "beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit" is "incorruptible"; so to me this means there is God's almighty power in His love's "gentle and quiet spirit" so this can not be corrupted by lusts or anger or other dominating and degrading things which are anti-love.
We live in this almighty power, then, by being gentle and quiet in God's love which has His own almighty power. And part of becoming this way is Philippians 2:13-16. And we submit to our Father, in order to receive His correction of our character so we become gentle and quiet in His love in our new nature.
And what does this have to do with revealing who Jesus is? Jesus is "gentle and lowly in heart" (Matthew 11:29); this is like to being gentle and quiet in God's love. And as we become more and more gentle and quiet like Jesus, we in ourselves experience how Jesus is, and so He is revealed to us by having us become like Him in us; and this is our example which can help to feed this to others, by means of the Holy Spirit > by ministering the grace of this on to others > 1 Peter 4:9-10.
