I prefer your first answer which I quoted .. at least that one's understandable.
You asked me if I would be OK with it if a legitimate vote would have demoted Pluto, and I said NO.

Now I'm telling you why I would say NO.

What's the problem with understanding where I'm coming from?

I'll let you decide that.

Do the math.

Even if I had 10,000 posts on the subject, that would be 1/384th of my post count.

Now that's just sad, not going to lie.

Thank you for asking for a clarification first.

QV please: 17

And yet the Bible doesn't say how many planets there are supposed to be. You're solely relying on the number given by scientists and then applying it ad hoc to the Bible.

1. Bible says x, Science says x = go with x
2. Bible says x, Science says y = go with x
3. Bible says x, Science says ø = go with x
4. Bible says ø, Science says x = go with x
5. Bible says ø, Science says ø = free to speculate on your own

Prime Directive: Under no circumstances whatsoever is the Bible to be contradicted.

Again: you're not using the Bible for that claim that 9 is the 'number of divine completeness'. Your claim is extra-Biblical.

It's still an extra-Biblical claim with no support from the text, and just shows that you really are obsessed with Pluto.
I'd say the IAU got much more "obsessed" with Pluto than I [allegedly] did.

You're the one who brings it up in nearly every thread you create or take part in. If for no other reason than because you want to.
I'd call that an obsession.

QV please:
I changed it to 1930 -- it's a reference to Pluto.

You should know my triad by now: Thalidomide, Challenger and Pluto -- ;)
I have two other "obsessions" as well.

But why is it even an issue for you? So Pluto isn't a planet. So what?!
To be honest, it should bother you more than it does me.

It's your science.

If ICR rigged a vote to get someone demoted, I'm sure I would be shocked more than you.

I take it you agree with the outcome of the vote.

And, in my opinion, that speaks of your character.

You know which side of your bread the butter is on, so to speak.

No, it's not 'my' science. It's astronomers, so it's their science to deal with.

And no, I don't agree with the outcome nor do I disagree with the outcome. It has no bearing on how I live my life, no impact whatsoever, so I don't care about it.

Why do you care? Because someone, somewhere went, in you mind, "Hey, this will P off that weird religious guy on the internet! Let's demote Pluto from a planet! MWAHAHA!"?

Then let them deal with me.

Oh, wow. LOL

Decisions are a drag, aren't they?

Cognitive dissonance in the way?

Good for you then.

But you seem to care if others care, don't you?

I have a feeling you didn't read my link in Post 165.

There are a LOT more people who care than just I.

Everyone from Alan Stern to the New Mexico House of Representatives.

Go pick on them if you have some personal vendetta against anyone who dares disagree with the vote.

I'm nobody.

Not even a blip on the IAU radar.

A random nobody on the internet who seems to have actually little to no regard for science, who's tagline for a good long time was "Science can take a hike!"? Yeah, they're quaking in their boots.

Good for you then.

But you seem to care if others care, don't you?

Nope, just you since you're the one who's created more than one thread on it.

Again: why do you care that Pluto was demoted from a planet? What about that affects you so much that you have to get obsessed over it?

IAU didn't get obsessed with Pluto, though. They didn't change the rules to demote Pluto. They did it so they wouldn't have to promote Eris and others. Pluto was an unfortunate casualty of the rules change.
