i was wondering where this thread had been.

i watched the dvd "specimens of beauty" with my friend, and he thought it was wierd... he's not into phish. He liked the part where they were just jamming, but he just thinks they're weird... i thought the same way a year ago. so maybe there's hope.

Well, they are weird! So what LOL. "Specimens of Beauty" was cool. I did not like the intro to it at all though, it really bugged me out. The jamming part was my favorite part too. I love when they are interviewing Trey, and they string together about 10 clips of him saying "You know what I mean?" And then the part where Trey thought someone shot a gun was hysterical!!
I like little things like that because you get to know the band better. Have yoiu ever seen "Bittersweet Motel" ? Its like a documentary on Phish, done by this guy who traveled with them for the better part of 1998. It is really, really good!! There are a few parts of it I hate, but that deals mostly with the fans acting like idiots, so I don't care when I skip through them.

I lost Undermind, (its ok, though, cause its backed up) Last time I saw it was on vacation, same with some DMB cds. opps.
I have watched "specimens of beauty" quit a few times, it is a pretty fun dvd. They're interesting people to say the least..lol.

Anyway. Oysterhead. I was wondering if they were discussed before since I didn't feel like going back and reading all posts.
Too bad this project didn't go anywhere. What a lineup of talent: Trey, Les Claypool and Stewart Copeland (THE brains behind the Police, IMO). Anyone care to share thoughts about the music?

yeah, i think that best buy will have it for about $18... it has the PBS documentary footage, and also like 4 hours of music, behind the scenes stuff. 2 discs.

i'm watching IT. IT's awesome.

i was wrong... i read somewhere that it was 4 hours of music... not quite that much... but it's still the best music dvd i've ever seen - high definition. it looks and sounds great.

"best music DVD I've ever seen" is quite a statement! My friends who went to IT just said it was mindblowing... better than Coventry.

I just got back from Costco where they were playing Phish on the big-a** HDTV. I'm assuming it was from IT - they were doing Velvet Underground's "Rock 'n Roll." It sure looked nice. (*drool*)
