It should read-that is one half of the Godhead is love so it would be absurd if the other half is not.

That's all true and correct, I doubt you would find may here that would disagree with those sentiments. But it's looking at a very small picture. It's great if it comforts and reaches you, but our faith isn't built on fuzzy feelings alone. Jesus himself was a great scholar of the OT, which he believed to be divinely inspired.

I have never seen any comments made by Jesus about the barbarism in the OT.
Also Jesus,being part of the Godhead wouldn't believe He would know.

You are using a filter for what you believe Jesus would have said based on the fact that you won't expand your spectrum of what and who God is beyond what makes you comfortable.
Taking this as an example from the bethinking website;

I know that most Christians believe that our sins are forgiven because of the Crucifixion,but I do not.

We now have a situation where almighty God has painted himself into a corner and has to come up with the plan to have part of the Godhead (Jesus) come to earth in human form.Then Jesus like the scapegoat would have all the sins of the world,past present and future heaped upon His head and then by allowing Jesus to be cruelly murdered, the wrath of God would be satisfied.
God is almighty and if He says,your sins are forgiven, that is an end of the matter.
God never sins and therefore could not have been involved in the killing of our Lord Jesus.
I do believe that the murder of Jesus was the worst crime ever committed but it has nothing to do with the forgiveness of sin.
My next post was as follows.
Sadly,Christianity in the U.K.and much of Europe is dying and if the present trend continues it will be dead within the next 30years
I want to try and prevent this happening and so I looked for reasons why it is dying.
There are several reasons but I want to concentrate on the Bible itself.In it's present form I believe that it is doing great harm to the Christian cause.
Unless the Bible is rewritten soon,Christianity will die in this part of the world.
I am asking you to join me in this cause.
Together I believe that we can succeed
Can we discuss please the Crucifixion and my appeal for help?

If you choose to call God barbaric, you are in error and possibly in danger for opposing God and changing His character to fit your false picture of what He should be according to you.

So much is in error in this posted way of thinking,
it is impossible to tell what religion it is you follow (it's not Biblical Christianity).

You openly oppose Scripture in this quoted post.
You openly deny Scripture is truth.

When did this start ?
Do any medicines you were told to take effect your thinking - are you restricted in any way ?
i.e. are there (as frequently is the case) medical reasons ?

I could write quite a bit in regards to your thoughts on sin and the crucifixion, but I might save that for later.
My bottom line in response to your last message is that you're looking at the wrong issue.
The problem is not the bible, the problem is the spiritual health of this country.

If the problem was the bible, how is Christianity dramatically INCREASING in parts of the world ?? Places such as the Far East, Africa and South America. I myself have seen the powerful effect of the bible in China and Japan, and South Korea follows suit for example.

Perhaps you don't actually fully understand why younger generations are not coming to faith in the UK. I'm in my mid to late 30's, and I see very clearly some of the reasons.

You are fighting the wrong cause. Fight against all those deceptions and distractions that draw people away from Jesus and the bible and I might join your cause.

The other point I'd like to make Kenneth is that you cannot unpick the uncomfortable parts out of the bible. It would be like trying to pick butter out of a hot piece of toast.

You're actually trying to DECEIVE people by hiding parts you don't like, or by saying they didn't happen because they challenge you.
People hate that, and I think it's low too. It's like when churches ask their members to trick non-believing friends into coming to an 'entertainment and food' evening, before springing on them that they're actually at a Christian event. By tricking them.

You're worried about Christianity dwindling in the UK, but you're fighting something that's prophesied !

According to all of God's Spirit, Word, Plan and Purpose,

when God destroyed the world , He was being Merciful doing so - not barbaric.

A lot of decevied posters have posted that they think God was wrong to do so,
because
someone tricked them into thinking God could ever be wrong.

This happens much more often than people (posters) believing God and His Word -

since most people (posters) (visitors)
never choose to serve God,
but continue serving the enemy of God instead, without repentance.

I do not call the one true God barbaric.
The God described in the Bible is barbaric and Ihave previously posted many examples.
This god was invented by the ancient Israelites.

Since His Word is TRUTH,
and JESUS says whoever rejects His WORD rejects Him,
that puts you
in an even more awful state than before.

Just because you don't agree with God, is reason enough for Him , Himself, to condemn you, unless like all others are told also, you likewise repent.

God Himself, and God's Word (the BIBLE), says what you say is wrong, not true.

You have put yourself opposed to God and against God's Word, as well as opposed to God's people who trust and rely on Him.

Why this is so might be important, I don't know. Perhaps a history of great pain and upheaval in your life. Perhaps a lot of deception when a child, or other evil (common in this world) ...
No matter what was the origin of the deception ,
the only way to correctly understand God's Word is given several times in God's Word:
and summed up in this verse in the New Testament:
" Then opened HE their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,"
