The Paraclete DWELLS in you

After the last supper, Jesus told his disciples in (Berean Standard Bible) John 14:

16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate [Paraclete] to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth.

The Paraclete is the Spirit of truth.

The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides [G3306] with you and will be in you.

Later Paul explained the "in" in Romans 8:

9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells [G3611] in you [plural]. Anyone [singular] who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

The Spirit of God or the Spirit of Christ refers to the Paraclete. The Paraclete is the special operation of the Holy Spirit which dwells in a believer's human spirit permanently. This is a spiritual reality.

Paul continued:

10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

1 Corinthians 3:

16 Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?

God's Spirit dwells/resides in us.
