Yes he most certainly is. I don’t really remember the kind of rhetoric being a thing before he came along. Why would his conviction be the catalyst for civil war if it wasn’t about him? That's the point - it's not over Trump. Trump as a person is not now nor ever has been the point.

Maybe he can just think it, and it happens. Like how he thinks declassification works.
-- A2SG, telepathy must be part of his stable genius...
I 1,000% think him/her/them resorting to calling me gay like it’s an insult reflects more on their biases and attitudes than anything they are upset at me about.Quite so. But one does wonder about the level of monstrosity intended by the use of that implied insult by the insulted to the insultee.
This gives a depressing view through the window of perception of the insulter as to what is monstrous or not. But it seems the curtains of restraint and manners have not yet been drawn on said window; particularly surprising on this a Christian website where insults and goading should be frowned on.
That’s a whole lot of conspiracy stuff for one post.In 2015-16 I supported Trump because I really liked his platform. I thought his ideas were positive and I was very concerned about Obamas push to get us into an EU style trade agreement where we would be allowing a small group of people to override our own government in matters of immigration and gun control etc.
I have to say, there's nothing the left has done to date, including Biden completely ignoring our immigration laws and throwing the southern border wide open, that leads me to believe this is about anything but policies that Americans want to see.
Trump the person had nothing to do with the Democratic party paying foreign actors to make up a fake dossier to errode public support for his campaign, as well as lie to a star chambers court to surveil their political opponents.
Trump the person had nothing to do with an FBI that was determined to stop Trump from getting into the white house, as well as did everything possible to kick him out against the will of the people once he was in it.
Trump the person didn't cause prosecutors to declare they would convict him of any crimes they could drum up, no matter how false, to keep him out of the white house again, and who then proceeded to try and do just that.
Trump the person isn't causing partisan judges and partisan secretaries of state to decide to remove Trump from the ballots..
It's the POLICIES....
Notice the one thing the left stopped doing was talking with Americans about policies and instead continually treat Americans like second class citizens who don't deserve to have the government address their concerns if we don't support wide open borders and other such idiocy?
Now, because we think our representatives in Congress should be deciding, based on Americans best interests, who what where and how on issues like immigration, we are xenophobic racists even if we ourselves have brown skin with immigrants for parents.
Now, if we don't like Haley's policy platform, we suddenly are racists or hate women, even if we thought Haley was white and we are women.
I can go on and on for days on these issues, but I'm making cakes and a dinner today for someone's birthday..
So I'll simply sum up by saying, the left doesn't hate Trump - they hate me. They hate you. They hate Americans who are simply trying to vote for the policies they think are best for all Americans.
They have another agenda altogether, and it won't benefit any one of us. When they are done with me, they will come after you if you ever fall out of lockstep.
What they are doing is trying to prevent Americans from having the right to vote for and eventually have, policies that benefit people in the nation instead of a global elite.
I liked most what he did also during that time. I also liked that he didn't walk his party line. But now his rhetoric is aggressive. He still believes the election was stolen from him and I'm afraid of what he'll try to do to get payback. The country is divided as is and we don't need Trump stirring up more hate.In 2015-16 I supported Trump because I really liked his platform.
I'm a registered Republican but now consider myself independent. What I see from both the left and right is just TALK. I've learned that both parties had good policies but no one was willing to agree because they don't want the sitting President to look good. It's about the party not the people these days.Notice the one thing the left stopped doing was talking with Americans about policies
This could be a “good thing”; after seeing how bad it gets with a dictator, we’d be dictator free for quite some time. The 2040s will be just swell in the USA!Trump as dictator.
For someone living a blameless life you're sure doing a lot of blame.. there's enough trouble makers on this thread .I hardly think accusing another poster of being gay on this a Christian website is constructive.
I don't think he's got the heart.I don't thin that Biden is going to shoot anyone, but maybe Liz Cheney's daddy is up for the task[/s]
A few of your friends came to your side, I'm not your dude, besides i heard you like dudettes. Go somewhere else. You have proven this is too deep for you without your fellow bullies.
Out of what, exactly? Nothing prevents Trump from serving out his term, even if he's incarcerated.
Even if that happens, it won't justify armed insurrection. Just so you know, in case you've made plans.
The republic is fine.
It will survive Trump.
Unless, of course, the SCOTUS awards him the absolute immunity he feels he should have.
That would be the worse possible scenario...but, frankly, I still doubt even the highly partisan conservative SCOTUS will see things Trump's way. That way lies madness.
The nation's fine. So far. It hasn't gone anywhere.
-- A2SG, well, not yet anyway...
That's niceSome people find me rude.
No President, past or current, has ever been indicted either. Or impeached twice. So Trump has already secured his place in history. If he wins...he won't be incarcerated. In fact, I suspect all charges will be dropped. No sitting President has ever been charged.
I think the judicial system might have some say in the matter. Courts don't often take self-justification into account on such matters.Whatever people decide "justifies" armed insurrection is exactly what justifies armed insurrection.
Yup.Nope.
Definitely. What damage he incurs in his wake can be undone. And, I fervently believe, will be.Possibly.
I disagree. Absolute immunity, to the extent that Trump's legal team has been arguing for, is far more damaging to the country and the Constitution than one former president being held accountable for his crimes. They might have to...it's hard to imagine a president in jail, they know a bit too much that's a bit too valuable for that to be a good idea.
I doubt that. Even in jail, he'll have Secret Service protection. If he's jailed, he'll be assassinated.
If he's guilty of crimes and sentenced to jail time...yes.Uh huh.
Let's just imagine someone knows things like...
The security procedures for Air Force 1.
The relative number of nukes for launch at any given time/location.
How large and extensive our chemical weapons division is.
And on and on and on...
Now, do we want to throw that person in jail....and possibly give him a reason to betray the US?
We've seen worse. It's burning out fast.
Sure he can. The Constitution doesn't say a word to prevent that from happening. There's no reason to believe he won't be in prison before the vote. Once in prison he cannot become president.
Were they elected before they were incarcerated?Sure he can. The Constitution doesn't say a word to prevent that from happening.
-- A2SG, and other elected officials have served terms of office while incarcerated....
James Michael Curley, a former Massachusetts governor, ran for his fourth non-consecutive term as Mayor of Boston while under federal indictment. He won. While incarcerated, an acting mayor was appointed, but upon his release, he continued his term. Were they elected before they were incarcerated?
Could you stop insulting people? For someone living a blameless life you're sure doing a lot of blame.. there's enough trouble makers on this thread
