horrible web site but the whole jaci valesquez did strick a bell in my book. if you havent read that part i strongly urge you to go back and take a look. it does make since. all the other bands was utter ****!

I laughed at the article on jaci valesquez. I must say Contemporary Christian music doesn’t do much for me, but they forget the commandment of do not judge! And they claim to be sinless saints, plus I do like some POD. And I know you missed the write up on U2. The only thing I liked about that page was the bono pics.....

Axver post the link of your write up, i would like to see it.

Dead on Axver!

"quote"and even sing a song titled 'Playboy Mansion' with lyrics such as "sex is a religion ... it's who you know that gets you into the gates of the playboy mansion"!’quote

This comment is simply ludicrous and fraudulent. The word ‘sex’ NEVER appears in The Playboy Mansion, the line they’re referring to is “Chance is a kind of religion”, and the author obviously has not bothered to even research the meaning of the song, because, if they had, it would’ve become apparent this song has a Christian message. This blatant mistake – which has not been corrected even though CCM has been contacted and informed of it – shows they cannot be trusted. If they can’t even get a simple lyric right, how can they be trusted to be accurate on more serious issues?-Axver

I should be praying for them, they need it.

And to quote Bono "God has some really weird children out there"

janin i read every word on what they wrote on U2... ;)

Well it's good to see you didn’t think much of it :)

BTW Has anyone one heard the opening night of Miami? I just downloaded it and it sounds awesome. I like the newer version of Discothèque it has more edge to it. But why did they only play it 18 times during elevation? And they didn’t play “the fly” much as well; maybe they just didn’t suit the set list or something. And Axver it’s good to see you appreciate U2’s older stuff, you mentioned "11 O'clock Tick Tock", I personally like War and after, anything before that I don’t listen too much. Though I like “A day without me” and I really like the live versions of “out of control” and “I will follow”.

And another thing I have noticed IMO it seems their older songs are getting slower with time, streets seem to be played at a slower pace on the Elevation tour the same as Sunday bloody Sunday, when you listen to rattle and hum they sound faster. And I don’t think it would be an age thing either. Do you understand what I’m saying or is it just me?

I think CCM has finally edited their Playboy Mansion quote, so I need to add a little revision to my article.

Heh, yeah, so true!

No, but I do have the last night of Elevation, also at Miami. I have some snippets of the first night, but I haven't really listened to them. Where'd you get the entire concert from? I'd love to hear it.

And they didn’t play “the fly” much as well; maybe they just didn’t suit the set list or something.
I think they played it a reasonable amount of times, and the way they reinvented it was awesome. I have some great performances of it on some boots. I think they should have played 11 O'clock Tick Tock a bit more; I would've liked to have seen it played a few more times instead of the amount that Out Of Control was played. It's interesting to note they played A Sort Of Homecoming twice and acoustic versions of such songs as In God's Country and Please.

I personally like War and after, anything before that I don’t listen too much.
Heh, that's opposite to me. I feel pre-JT is what it's all about; they made their best stuff pre-War but the War and UF tour concerts were the best. Gloria and 11 O'clock Tick Tock are simply awesome. I love the 21 November 1984 and 29 April 1987 performances of Gloria.

Hmm ... I'm stupid, I forgot to reply to the last paragraph.

I haven't noticed Streets slowing down, though yes, SBS has gotten a good deal slower. I think it's just they're changing things around, though I'm not really sure. Bono's voice has deteriorated so they've had to tune down some songs to suit his voice, which would explain some of it.

Well, just imagine how slow it will be in another 10 years lol. But it's sad that Bono's voice has deteriorated lately. And you "MUST" get the Miami soundboard. It would have to be the best concert I have on my computer that I downloaded from relieve the concert.com

I'll see you at Interference axver and others. I won’t be posting here for awhile, I need to work out my faith issues, doubt ect, beliefs.

C ya everyone :wave:

Haha. Well I'm thinking soon they'll reinvent SBS and other old songs. SBS is the best example: it was fast in the early days, in the JT era they took the first verse slow and then launched into it, on Popmart Edge played it solo, and then they slowed it down for Elevation. They tend to reinvent a few songs each tour.

But it's sad that Bono's voice has deteriorated lately.
It's been ongoing really. I think I made a detailed post about it a while ago ...

Yeah, well I'd love to, but I can never seem to get onto Relive The Concert! Gah.

I'll see you at Interference axver and others. I won’t be posting here for awhile, I need to work out my faith issues, doubt ect, beliefs.
Alright, I'll see you over there. I'll pray for you if you would like.

Thanks Axver and indigo tree. {hugs}

I'm registered at interference as my name, with an 89 at the end. I'll still come here some times, I'm just having trouble completely believing in God, I've been saved for 6 months, i'm just having trouble with what to believe, and many people on the forum seem to take excessive measures to be prude and condemning. i just need a break.

Axver if you want the Miami soundboard i can post it to you, just PM me your details :)

I love U2. I'm listening to With or Without you right now, actually. IMO, Joshua tree should be listened to straight through, because it works so well in order. It's probably my favorite U2 album, but All that you... comes in a close second.

Favorite songs, hm.

With or Without You
Still Haven't Found
Walk on
Beautiful Day
40
Seconds
Please (single version, not album)
One Tree Hill
The Fly

You may find the Goal Is Soul forum at Interference helpful, and I know what you mean about some people ... that's why I have the quote by The Edge in my signature!

Oh, no need to worry about that. UK Cowboy, Janine got it from www.relivetheconcert.com. I think I know someone here in Australia with a copy of it - and a DVD of one Miami concert, not sure which - so I might do a trade with him. I just got some stuff off him;

- 27 November 1993, Sydney (VCD of the edited ZooTV tape)
- 1 November 1993, Christchurch, incomplete audience-shot VCD
- 1 November 1993, Christchurch, complete (but poor quality) audio
- 4 November 1993, Auckland

I'm doing a trade with another guy here in Australia, I'll be receiving;

- 26 February 1980, Dublin, audio
- 20 April 1983, Loreley, Germany, audio
- 11 August 1993, London, audio
- Popmart Johannesburg proshot VCD
- 19 October 2000, Paris, audio

And another trade with a guy in NZ will feature;

- Popmart Buenos Aires, proshot VCD
- Popmart Santiago, proshot VCD
- 24 October 2001, New York, audio

If anyone's interested in doing a trade, I'm going to be making a website with my complete list of concerts and their setlists soon. I have no problems with mp3-sourced boots - most of mine are - but I do prefer them to be non-mp3 simply because some people won't trade for them.

Have you heard the remix of With Or Without You, LMC versus U2 'Take Me To The Clouds Above'? Apparently it's gone to number one in Britain, though I hate it.

Too right. I wish they'd gone with one idea of making it a 2CD set ... some of the b-sides from that era are awesome. I adore Luminous Times (Hold On To Love).

Speaking of b-sides, has anyone here heard Bass Trap, NOT the butchered Best Of edit but the original 5:13 mix that was a UF-era b-side? That's a lovely song.

Well then, you're more than welcome here!

I've got two copies of that. Isn't it AWESOME? Best performances of Beautiful Day, Kite, Angel Of Harlem, Mysterious Ways, and Walk On ever. I'm in love with it. I want to get the bootleg of the first Slane concert from 25 September 2001.

The Boston concert ... overall, I think that was better than the Slane concert. While Slane has more 'best evers', Boston was the more solid show in my opinion ... and I just prefer the setlist. Best performance of The Fly, and Bullet The Blue Sky is only just nudged out by a few ZooTV performances, namely Stockholm '92.

If you're interested in more live U2, I could give you some links to where you can download some good concerts in mp3 format.
