I watched that a couple of days ago - love the performances of UTEOTW and Angel Of Harlem.

I can't wait for the Chicago DVD. It'll be so cool to have The Electric Co. and An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart on an official DVD.

Is there a release date on this yet?

Yes, I believe the DVD is out on 14 November, though I think it's a different date in some parts of the world.

That soon!? Sweetness...now I just need to have enough money to buy it...

U2Wanderer.org, which I trust more than U2.com (a disgrace of an official site run by a pack of babboons) gives the release date as November 14/15. I suspect 14 is the worldwide date and 15 the US date - I know albums come out a day later in the US than the rest of the world so I suppose it's the same with DVDs.

There will apparently be two editions, and I believe the second edition contains a bonus disc. However, I've seen some saying the difference in editions is just packaging ... U2Wanderer reckons it is a bonus disc though, and I trust what they report.

You should be able to see me on the dvd. They recorded the night I was there in May, as well as the night before. I'm pretty sure they used footage from both nights. I was in the first balcony, center stage, right behind the stage. Larry Mullen Jr. was right in front of me.

Nothing's come of that yet, though I'm wondering if they'll release something between the end of this tour and the next album. They also filmed in Milan in Europe so they may just release that ...

ZooTV, Popmart, and especially Red Rocks need DVD releases though.

Awesome! They're definitely using footage from both the 9th and 10th, but I'm not sure which is going to be the dominant source. I believe there will also be interviews with fans that were conducted on the 7th.

I just picked up the Elevation dvd used for 22 bucks. Great dvd as well, although I think I slightly prefer the Slane Castle dvd. But WTSHNN owns on the Elevation dvd!

There are two very simple reasons why I prefer the Boston DVD over Slane: Gone and The Fly. Incredible performances.

Gone is a song they need to bring back for the current tour; this tour's version of The Fly is the best, most rocking ever in my opinion. And speaking of this tour, have a wild guess where it's coming. The announcement will be made this coming week: they're coming to Australia and New Zealand! First time in eight and thirteen years respectively. Rumours from 'high places' (as in the tour manager, when asked) state that U2 will play two concerts in Auckland on 16 and 17 March 2006 at Western Springs Stadium. To put it another way: U2 in the city of One Tree Hill on Saint Patrick's Day.

I'm so there.

The Fly is incredible...so is Gone, so is every U2 song for that matter. That sounds so sweet, U2 on St. Patricks Day, can it get much better than that? Well, maybe if you were in Ireland... :D

Looks like the announcement of the fourth leg of the tour is imminent now ...

These dates have leaked:
21 February 2006, Brazil (city unknown, I suspect Sao Paulo)
22 February 2006, Brazil (see above)
2 March 2006, Foro Sol, Mexico City, Mexico (there will apparently be a second date but it's not known if it's before or after this one)
16 March 2006, Western Springs Stadium, Auckland, New Zealand
17 March 2006, Western Springs Stadium, Auckland, New Zealand
24 March 2006, Telstra Dome, Melbourne, Australia
25 March 2006, Telstra Dome, Melbourne, Australia

You can see there's obviously huge gaps.

Well, I eagerly await to see where Sydney shows will be...if they're doing 2 Telstra Dome shows in Melbourne, I'd say there'd be a good chance of a couple of shows in Sydney at Telstra Stadium :) Because if the Bee Gees were able to get a gig there, surely U2 could :D

Well, that's the interesting thing, there has been no serious suggestion of Telstra Stadium. I know someone at Ticketek and they've been informed Ticketek will indeed be handling both Sydney and Brisbane, and in Sydney, that leaves the possible venues as:

Telstra Stadium: see above.
SFS (Aussie Stadium): if it's a stadium, I think it's likely to be here. U2 played at SFS twice in 1993 and once in 1998, with the second 1993 show used for the ZooTV Live In Sydney video.
Superdome: all this year, there have been rumours of 4-5 U2 gigs at the Superdome and I hope this is the chosen venue. 4-5 gigs not only means great setlists, but it also means that if U2 bring the stadium setup from Europe (which seems likely) rather than the arena setup from North America, Sydney would be the only city in the world to get the stadium setup indoors, as it could just squeeze into the Superdome (though IF they play Perth, it'll be indoors too at the Burswood Dome, which was the only indoor venue on the 1997-98 Popmart Tour).

I'm very much hoping they play the Superdome. I'm also hoping that they play the Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, though they couldn't fit the stadium stage in there so I've no idea what they'd do. Ticketek has the ticketing though, which means either ANZ Stadium, Lang Park, or the Entertainment Centre ... and both of the stadiums seem unlikely (I don't think anyone's played ANZ in ages and Lang Park has noise restrictions), and I honestly think there's no way a stadium gig in Brisbane will sell out, while two shows at the Entertainment Centre would.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I never thought Suncorp/Lang Park would have noise restrictions...plus having U2 there would be a mighty fine way to promote what is one of the best stadiums in the world. However, I can't afford 4-5 gigs, so hopefully there'll be tapers there or something :)

Lang Park's near residential areas, I believe (only been there once myself, came in on the train and wasn't paying attention to the surrounds), so if that's the case, that'd explain the restrictions. I'm told they will relax the restrictions in some cases via negotiations, and U2 have the stature and influence to probably get their way, but ... I really hope not. Popmart Brisbane only sold 17,500 tickets and I really don't think U2's popularity in Brisbane has soared enough in recent years to sell out 40,000+ tickets. However, the Entertainment Centre holds only 13,000 and (especially with some people going to both shows), I'm sure they could sell out 26,000 over two nights.

I'm hoping there's an announcement of venues in the next few days ... this wait is not good for my blood pressure!
