Any person is an antichrist who denies that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ (1 John 2:22), or who denies that Jesus is the human/divine Son of God (1 John 2:22b), or who denies that Christ is in the flesh (2 John 1:7). He's the individual "man" aspect of the "beast" who will come (Revelation 13:18) and bring the world into the worship of Lucifer (the dragon, Satan) and himself (Revelation 13:4,8, Revelation 12:9). He will rule the earth for 3.5 literal years (Revelation 13:5-10, Daniel 7:25, Daniel 12:7), and will have a miracle-working False Prophet (Revelation 19:20, Revelation 16:13), who by amazing, Luciferian miracles (cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:9), such as calling fire down from heaven (Revelation 13:13), will deceive the people of the world into worshipping a speaking (possibly an android) image of the Antichrist (Revelation 13:15), and receiving a mark of the Antichrist's name or gematrial name-number (666) on their right hand or forehead (Revelation 13:16-18). The Antichrist and his False Prophet will ultimately be cast into the lake of fire at Jesus' 2nd coming (Revelation 19:20), whereas at that time Satan will be bound in the bottomless pit for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-3). None of these things has happened yet.

The idea of a future, individual-man Antichrist was correctly recognized in the scriptures by the church from early on. Irenaeus (born c. 140 AD) used the term: "speaking of Antichrist, [Paul] says, 'who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped'" (Against Heresies 3:6:5; 2 Thessalonians 2:4); "...by means of the events which shall occur in the time of Antichrist is it shown that he, being an apostate and a robber, is anxious to be adored as God" (Against Heresies 5:25:1; 2 Thessalonians 2:4, Daniel 11:36, Revelation 13:8); "...when this Antichrist shall have devastated all things in this world, he will reign for three years and six months, and sit in the temple at Jerusalem" (Against Heresies 5:30:4b; Revelation 13:5; 2 Thessalonians 2:4, Daniel 7:25, Daniel 12:7); "...the number of the name of the beast ... the name of Antichrist" (Against Heresies 5:30:1; Revelation 13:17c-18).

The gematrial numerical values of the letters in the Antichrist's name will add up to six hundred and sixty-six (Revelation 13:17c-18).

The devil, Satan (the dragon, Revelation 12:9) isn't the Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of the beast), but the one who will empower the Antichrist (Revelation 13:4; 2 Thessalonians 2:9) and who will be worshiped along with the Antichrist (Revelation 13:4). The Antichrist will be cast into the lake of fire over 1,000 years before Satan is cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:20 to 20:10). The Antichrist and Satan are shown to be separate persons also in Revelation 16:13. But Satan could spiritually enter the man who is the Antichrist, just as Satan spiritually entered Judas (Luke 22:3).

We are now experiencing the 7 last plagues (such as skin cancer, red tides and global warming). That means the great tribulation is behind us, and that Hitler was the anti-christ. His Third Reich was the third six of the 666 trilogy.

The number of a man is mistranslated to 666, it is in fact 616.

616 is the number of a man, because a man thinks, then waits, then thinks again (six is a number for thought, one is a number for waiting).

The misconception is to think that the antichrist has some sort of pattern lead agenda, that is antichristian.

The truth is, he is simply a man who does not think of God separately from himself.

I've heard this argument of 666 vs 616 before. I give a respectful "shrug," because I don't have (at the time) the information to subscribe or reject your premise. I hold true to the prophecy of Daniel 11 and Daniel 12. The "Man" will be a man of flatteries. To me, this screams a "leader" that can appeal to people by, for example, "awakening their third eye, unlocking 'powers,' or something of the sort." Daniel is clean in that the "man" that is commonly thought of as Antichrist will be someone who comes on the scene as a peaceful, "people's Champion." His motives will be so persuasive that even "the elect, if it were possible," would subscribe to his ideals. Some Christian movies depict this "man" as a man who would be able to "unlock latent 'abilities' with in humans (think X-men)."

The general kernel is that this "man" will be seemingly "christ-like," but he is anything but that. Could it be a "leader" that solves the problems of world hunger, energy and consciousness crises? Could it be an "alien" creature that solves the world's problems? Could it be someone who revamps the "garden of Eden, making us think we are gods?" Again, I give a respectful, yet somewhat dismissive shrug.

This is my interpretation of Revelation 13:18 NIV

This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.

So the number 666 is only used one other time in scripture in reference to the weight of gold king Solomon received yearly (1 kings 10:14). So, I think the beast will be a wealthy man.

Colossians 3:5 says greed is idolatry, which means he could deny Jesus by worshipping money.

Then, because this does not necessarily tie him to any one religion, he will probably come from a western or democratic region. Because, let's face it, if the world adopted a democratic government, it would start to resemble Sodom and Gomorrah before you know it (Luke 17:28-30).

The word is #5585 in Strong's Greek dictionary, and it means to "calculate by counting the stones that are warn smooth over a long period of time."

What stones? We were told in chapter two, we would receive a new stone with a new name written on it. This word "count" originated from that word "stone" of chapter two of the book of Genesis. These are the only places in the Bible this word for count, or stone is used. So we must enumerate, or calculate these stones worn smooth over a long period of time. "Their rock is not our Rock, and his stones are not our Stones," is what the overcomers will sing, as the "Song of Moses tells us in Deuteronomy 32. God is our Rock, and Satan is the false rock, but which stones are we to count?

The stones are the number of man, that man is Satan, and if you know Satan you will know his children. Those stones are his children .The "mark of the beast" number [6-6-6] then is to count, or know Satan's children over a long period of time. They are the "Kenites",

Jesus said in Revelation 2 and 3 that the Churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia were the only acceptable churches to Him, because they knew who the Kenites were. The Kenites were "those who said they were Jews, and lied; because they were of the synagogue of Satan". The seven churches are the seven types of churches existing in these last days. Five are not acceptable to God, while the two are.

666 is only to take you to Exodus 13, Ezekiel 8-9-10.

Everything in Revelation is Jewish traditions, it is a letter secretly written to Jews because it uses a language of ancient Jewish tradition.

At 6pm, on the 6th day, in the 6th month, in the 6th year, everyone who doesn't have the seal of God on they foreheads die.

The initial phrase of Revelation 22:14 reads differently in different original-Greek manuscripts. The Textus Receptus/KJV says "Blessed are they that do his commandments", whereas the NIV says "Blessed are those who wash their robes". But the two ideas come together in 1 John 1:7, which shows that believers are cleansed from sin as they actually "walk" in the light, which is figurative of doing God's commandments (2 John 1:6).

The letter of the Old Covenant Mosaic law has been made obsolete by the New Covenant (Hebrews 8:13). For example, the letter of the Old Covenant Mosaic law required an Aaronic priesthood (Exodus 30:30), whereas the New Covenant replaced the Aaronic priesthood with the Melchisedechian priesthood (Hebrews 7:11-28). Also, the letter of the Old Covenant Mosaic law required animal sacrifices (e.g. Leviticus 23:19), whereas the New Covenant replaced those with the one-time sacrifice of Jesus (Hebrews 10).

The letter of the Old Covenant Mosaic law is the Hagar to the New Covenant's Sarah (Galatians 4:22-25), so that those people, whether Jews or Gentiles, who try to keep the letter of the Old Covenant Mosaic law are like Ishmael, while those people, whether Jews or Gentiles, who keep the New Covenant are like Isaac (Galatians 4:22-31).

The letter of the Old Covenant Mosaic law (including the letter of the 10 commandments), written and engraven in stones (2 Corinthians 3:7, Deuteronomy 4:13, Deuteronomy 27:8), was the ministration of death and condemnation (2 Corinthians 3:7,9). For example, see Leviticus 20:10, Exodus 31:14, and Numbers 15:32-36; and contrast these with the New Covenant's John 8:4-11 and Matthew 12:1-8. The letter of the Old Covenant Mosaic law has been done away (2 Corinthians 3:11), abolished (2 Corinthians 3:13b). This is a false, cursed gospel (Galatians 1:6-9). For if any believers are keeping any part of the letter of the Old Covenant Mosaic law, thinking that they must do so in order to be saved, or in order to become perfect, then Jesus will profit them nothing; they have fallen from grace (Galatians 5:2-8).
