I feel it would be better to do away with all popes , we don't need them , not even the orthodox (who in many ways are similar to RCC) don't need a Pope and never have!

I look forward to the day when the Vatican and all it stands for is completely gone.

:amen:

ps. I mean no offense to any Roman Catholic , I am sure many of them know the Lord .

Good to see that not all (other) Protestants are being ecumenical on this issue.

Gee....so much for Christian unity huh?

You people really need to get a life...other than belittling other churches....

In other words...

WWJD?

WWJD, He wouldn't be apart of the RCC.

I too look forward to the day the vatican falls.

That's nice.

I look forward to when people can act like human beings and not judge others. You know...like THE BIBLE says.

:crossrc:

So let me get this right....when we say that the Vatican/Papacy is not established by God and has decieved many were being "judgemental"...but when your church calls us schismatics and anathematize our beliefs it's not?

Like how it says, judge in righteous judgement? or the saints will judge the world?

If you want I can point out tons of RCC doctrine that is in error.

But as this isn't the catholic area, I won't.

He is currently involved in covering up a high level priest accused in a sexual scandal, was critical of the American press coverage of the Roman Catholic priests sexual scandals, was a Nazi, and believes you can only go to heaven if you're a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

What do I think? I think he's awful. :liturgy:
I am not a Roman Catholic, and I don't believe that the Papacy is Scriptural, and it is against Church Tradition... BUT....

The man was not a Nazi. From what I understand, he was part of a nazi Youth organization, and just about every kid in nazi Germany was part of a nazi youth organization.

Also, even if he was a Nazi, people can repent.

...I believe most Catholics on this site do not sit there all day and call you schismatics and anathematize your church. Let's not have a martyr complex.

I know. I don't spend all of my time starting topics and saying that the Roman Catholic Church is anti-Christian, or that the Roman Church dontrines are from the depths of hell. But when I must defend my position, I will, as many RC's will (or, maybe should) defend their church's position.

I noticed that you made a seperation between the Roman Church (what I said) and Roman Catholic individuals. Do you believe that the Roman Catholic church is/was judgemental in calling Protestants schismatics and anathematizing our beliefs?

Well I believe anyone/any organization would be judgemental in calling any church/belief schismatic or if they anathematize that person's beliefs. As Christians that is not our place.

Then I assume that you don't accept the Council of Trent as infallible?

OK Guys , I do not expect you to agree with Roman Catholic Practice or doctrine or the selection of the pope .

I do expect some degree of civility in your discussion.

Please watch your words (and attitudes )

There is no debate here between Reformed believers and other faiths.. discussion, and fellowship only

Thanks

Mot hat off

I have read many documents in the Catholic Church. I would suggest reading some of the documents of Vatican II...or better yet, some of the book and things written/said by John Paul II.

Read council of trent.

What JP II do you want us to read, the ones where he does nothing but praises Mary for saving his life?

Ignorant post??

Judge not lest you be judged...

Goodbye and have a blessed day.

I am prepared to be judged.

The Bible says by the same standard you judge, you will be judged.

Now if I pass judgment using scripture, I know what standard I will be judged by.

Plus in the message you quoted me, there was no judgment.
