2 Peter 3 says the world was "destroyed" by water in the days of Noah and will be destroyed again - only this time by fire.

Yet we know this is the SAME physical planet.

In Rev 20 -- the lake of fire is -- on the Earth.
In Rev 21 the Holy City comes to Earth.

In Mal 4 -- it is this Earth - where the ashes of the wicked are as a result of the lake of fire - that the saints inherit the Earth and walk on the ashes of the destroyed wicked of all the earth.

“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the Lord of armies, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branches. 2 But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and frolic like calves from the stall. 3 And you will crush the wicked underfoot, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I am preparing,” says the Lord of armies.''


So then in Matt 5 "The saints inherit THE EARTH" as opposed to "another planet:

What about the current Earth planet today and the new Earth mentioned in Rev 21:1?

What about the current Earth planet today and the new Earth mentioned in Rev 21:1?

Given that Noah's Earth "was destroyed" yet we are still on it today, I think the New Earth cannot still have the ashes of the wicked on it where the saints walk on the ashes of the wicked Malachi 4:1-5 - without this planet being the same one as the one in Rev 20.

Rev 11:
15 Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”

Dan 7: 26 But the court will convene for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever. 27 Then the sovereignty, the dominion, and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the empires will serve and obey Him.’

It is the Earth made new.

Rev 21:5 And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”

5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

The verse does not say the sun and moon are no longer needed. The verse states the city does not need the sun or moon.
