So, you learned it in a vacuum? Just you, possibly some friends and the bible?
Does your Pastor teach that you have to sin every day? Does your Pastor teach that you are not an overcomer? Does your Pastor teach that you are not free from the law of sin and death? Does your Pastor teach you to debate with one liners that you don't give a lick of scripture to back up?

It's just a forum, Renee, don't take any conflicts here too seriously. In the big scheme of your life what we say isn't all that important. Your pastor, your church, your family and your friends they're important. We're all just faceless, voiceless words on a screen.

Someday, in heaven, we'll all mean more of course, but for now take it all with a grain of salt.

I don't doubt you're love for God or that you'll be in heaven. I don't agree with some of your details, and obviously you don't agree with mine either, but I'm sure you're a lovely person.

And I hope and pray all the best for you and Cecil. But please don't cry yourself to sleep over online silliness.

I guess I find it odd that this is new to people. This teaching has been around for as long as I have been a Christian... it is right out of the Bible. I can quote you dozens of verses that show that it is the plan of God to create a people who will walk in the light with Him and life holy before Him IN CHRIST.
I am really surprised that believers are not aware of this....

I think maybe sometimes it's the presentation... Sometimes the way you write seems very cryptic - I often think you are saying the opposite of what you later explain. Could be just me though.

No, not at all. he teaches that we should lead sinless lives. But, he also teaches that weare stillvery capable of sin, and have to be vigilant, and repent if and when we do. We all struggle. You are saying you do not sin, and do not struggle? You never are unkind? You are always patient, you never have an unclean thought?

I am sorry..
You may be correct.
I will try to be more clear in the future.
Being right is not enough it people do not understand the message.

:)

I think fully 75% of the disagreements on this forum stem from misunderstandings of what others have said. Sometimes the person is unclear in their writing; sometimes the reader is unclear in their reading (if that makes any sense). Sometimes both.

Either you are not too good at stating it, or I am very poor at comprehending.
I'm not saying I'm a perfect communicator but you really are being quite rude. Especially since I have not responded in kind to you.

Do I struggle? Of course I struggle. It's a battle. The majority of the time though, my flesh does not win. I do. I am living in a body of flesh. I am not my flesh. My flesh is not me. My flesh may succumb here and there but not on a daily basis.

Am I never unkind? I'm not sure that being unkind is a sin but God does talk to me when my flesh acts in a manner that shows a needed attitude adjustment. Saying something in a way where someone else chooses to get their nose all bent out of joint though is not a sin on my part. While I may need to learn how to say something differently, it's not a sin. The sin is on the part of the one who chooses to take up the offense.

Am I always patient? Again, I'm not sure that a little impatience here and there is a sin. But when God see's it as a needed attitude adjustment in my heart, He's right there to adjust it. It's not a sin that seperates me from Him.

Do I never have an unclean thought? Ummmm, very rarely, if at all. Thoughts though are not sin, it's the dwelling on the thought that it becomes sin. Jesus did not say if you "think" a woman is pretty that you have sinned. He said, if you look at her and lust that you have committed adultery...which is sin. Lust is never a "passing" thought.

Quaffer, DOD, CharityAgape, If I were saved today, gave my life to God, accepted Jesus' sacrifice, and slept with a woman otherthan my wife tomorrow, I would be sinning?
And your point is.......?

I"ve been saved over 45 years. I would expect that when you have been saved for a long length of time that you will not succumb to your flesh as much as you did when you first got saved. If you do, there is a problem.

Sorry, but I just don't see it. I am far from the only person who is having a very difficult time putting a finger on what you and a few others are saying in this thread. But, I did say that maybe it is my understanding that is lacking.

Simple, I am trying to get an idea pf exactly what it is you are talking about in this thread. Isn't that clear?
WE DON'T HAVE TO SIN AT ALL, ESPECIALLY NOT EVERY DAY!

THERE IS NO SCRIPTURE THAT REQUIRES A BELIEVER TO SIN.

We live in a broken world. Missing the mark is not something that takes effort on this plain of existance. Do you think someone said, on this thread, then, that Christians are required to sin?

That is true but there is no scripture that requires a believer to sin.

You didn't ask a question...what am I being requested to answer?
Quaffer, DOD, CharityAgape, If I were saved today, gave my life to God, accepted Jesus' sacrifice, and slept with a woman otherthan my wife tomorrow, I would be sinning?

Yes, I did ask a question, quaffer. And, to you.

Sorry, I did not see the question mark.

I will answer the question with a question: How long have you known the Lord? Do you still allow the flesh to rule in the same area's and quantity that you did the day you first got saved?
