The delta-32 gene is also credited with saving many people from the plague in the middle ages.Pete Harcoff said:Which brings me to this: The coreceptor mutation CCR5(delta)32 influences the dynamics of HIV epidemics and is selected for by HIV. What this article details is a variant of the CCR5 gene (CCR5 delta 32; characterized by a deletion of 32 base pairs), which conveys resistance to HIV (particularly among those with 2 copies of the gene). It also discusses selection for this gene in populations with HIV infection present.
Which makes Biblical Creation incompatible with common sense as well as evolution.Novaknight1 said:Evolution and Christianity are incompatible, though.
Creation says plants came before the Sun.
Creation says humans were coexistant with dinosaurs.
Creation says light shown on Earth, but not from the Sun.
At least, Biblical Creation does.

Biblical literalism and Evolution are incompatable, but biblical literalism =/= Christianity.

Jesus spoke in parables throughout the NT. Are you telling me that those parables held no truth at all because they were not based on historical facts?mark kennedy said:So tell me mr. Ghost how is the gospel a reliable statement of faith if the Bible is no literal truth and I do mean historical truth?
if you new anything of the bible you would now that God is the light. Moses could not look at him because of the brightness. and it turned his hair white. So their is no need of the sun if God is present physically. If you studied the bible as much as evolution you would understand these things. How evolution makes sense we are born just to survive and die. you can have that and all the sadness with it. Why on earth would a man want to start such an idea as this. Yes folks all you have ever known is a lie from nature. we are to just live and die. Common sense says theres no way i would believe this. No point in working hard to live no reason to care about morals or anyone else no reason to believe anyone because how do we know its not just a lie from a mutation. no reason to charish my children no reason to throw people in jail because it my not be their fault.Nathan Poe said:Which makes Biblical Creation incompatible with common sense as well as evolution.
So, in other words, you reject evolution because you don't like it. It could be as well supported as the earth orbiting the sun, but because you don't like the ideas behind evolution it has to be wrong. Cool. Next time I jump off of a building I will decide that I don't like the conclusions made by the theory of gravity. Evolution says nothing about moral codes. Moral codes are a human construction, and humans agree to follow them amongst themselves. What is wrong with that? I accept evolution and I still find great value in laws and moral codes. I guess the only thing that keeps you from doing bad things is fear of God, right? No point in working hard to live no reason to care about morals or anyone else no reason to believe anyone because how do we know its not just a lie from a mutation. no reason to charish my children no reason to throw people in jail because it my not be their fault.
Actually, it is the church and creationists that are suppressing information. Lucy has characteristics unlike any ape alive today, including hips that are intermediate between humans and apes. Lucy was more of a biped than any ape alive today. Lucy is between ape and human, whether you like it or not. The only one trying to suppress information is yourself.Novaknight1 said:If you're refering to Lucy, it was shown to be purely ape. Of course, that fact was suppressed by the media.

i dont do bad things because i Love Jesus and he saved me from sin and death. im a sinner but everyone is. Jesus just forgives me and i try to do better. but thats another issue. I reject evolution because it is not true or proven. or of any use in society. science is fine we can learn from this. evolution isnt science in action. evolution just uses science for its own purpose. Religion doesnt come from evolution. Why wouldnt animals have it. We just got unlucky and had it mutated into our thinking so now we have to follow rules and such. Darwin was raised christian and fell out of it so he evented evolution to keep from feeling guilty-just my opinion here of course. If you put all the peices of evolution evidence they wouldnt form much of a picture. way to many gaps. they stay with basics to prove everything they believe. Use a lot of we believe we assume it could of been most likely fairly certain your wrong PRATT in conclusion we believe we solved this problem that can be proved with this assuption and these date measurement which are fairly accurate with how we assume it used to be.Loudmouth said:So, in other words, you reject evolution because you don't like it. Irrelavent. One's religious views do not effect how scientific one's research is. The only time it is is when one lets religion get in the way of truth (read: creationists).Actually he never had anything close to actual faith.
Based on?mark kennedy said:Actually he never had anything close to actual faith.
Religious views have nothing to do with faith. Faith is a work of God in us, so it has a lot more to do with His views, as compared to man's views. Man may have opinions, but man's opinions are a dime a dozen, what counts is God's opinions and what He thinks about it. So it is a lot more important what God thinks about you, as compared to whatever it is that you think about God.Valkhorn said:One's religious views do not effect how scientific one's research is.
