The organist begins the opening strains of Crown Him With Many Crowns and you lift your hymnal, ready to sing. As the song progresses, the person in the pew in front of you begins singing louder than you. Ultimately, he raises his hands high over his head as he sings.

We will do whatever the Spirit from God puts into our hearts to do.

Some will praise the Lord by the Spirit of Jesus, like David as he played his harp for king Saul.

Some will curse their brother by the evil Spirit from the Lord, like Saul did when he threw his javelin at David.

God prepares some for glory.

Eph 2:10
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. KJV

God prepares some for destruction by sending them a lying, murderous Spirit like he did king Ahab and king Saul.

Those communications that do not prick or cut us to the heart are not of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, the holy One of Israel.

The communications that do not prick or cut are old wives tales and/or vain janglings; which is food for hogs and dogs. These communications that are food for hogs and dogs are from the other Jesus that teach another gospel whereby we are lulled to sleep while still in our sins.

I read the entire Psalm 150 again. The Lord is our God.

Praise him "in"...

Praise him "for"...

Praise him "with"...

Praise him "upon"...

There is some strong meat in those conditions.

And then the last part that everything that has breath should praise him.

I agree.

Here, we have brass, wind, strings and percussion. The vast majority of our modern instruments fit within these classifications. All are permissible in the context of worship.

Yes, that is why the Lord led Paul to include experience as a vital ingredient in the chain of salvation.

Rom 5:3-5
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. KJV

Faith, grace, tribulations, patience, experience and hope. The result is that the love of God which makes its entrance into our hearts by faith, is shed abroad ( all 4 corners of our spiritual heart ) in our hearts by the gift of the the holy Spirit unto us in God's works of grace.

They should be sung, not only with the spirit, but with understanding through knowledge and wisdom.

Honestly, I would truly love to know the source of this oft repeated myth. All the critics agree that David's psalms were built upon repetitive phrases. God has not placed a limit on the use of repetitive phrases. We may have personal preferences in this area -- and that's certainly OK -- but these opinions probably only have relevance to the one with the preference.
