Does anyone remember that movie Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (one of the best comedies out there in my opinion)? This song by Ray Charles was playing in that scene where John Candy is sort of rocking out in the car. God bless that man. His life ended far too soon.

The scene I am referencing in the movie is this,

I actually don't have any Pearl Jam in my collection...

I think it's because I never really got into grunge, despite being part of its prime audience (in my teens in the early 90s). As I think I mentioned earlier in this thread, while grunge was going on in the US, Britpop was its counterpart in the UK. Neither had that much of an impact in the other country, but in South Africa we were exposed to both with people tending to gravitate to one or the other, and I went for Britpop.

Well, I said that, that no avid music listener should be without Pearl Jam, and yet "Even Flow" is the only Pearl Jam song I really even know well, much less have in my collection.

Given what I posted about recently in WOYM, I thought this was a fitting song to share. Written after the death of the mother of two of the band members, I would rate this as one of the most powerful and moving songs about the loss of a loved one.

I can hardly call myself a fan of Selena Gomez's music, but I actually really like this one from her, from a long time ago before we started getting ... shall I say tactfully ... songs of lesser melodic quality and lyrical pleasantness from her.

From the second level of the much, much better iteration of Super Mario Bros. 1 that was on the Gameboy.

This is from one of my favorite strategy RPG's, Tactics Ogre. A really ... dumb title for a game, but, with a great story ,

One of my favorite "fight the power" kind of songs. A knight's way of lamenting his dark choices but determined to stay the course and not just lay down and die ,

Really the only song I know from the band The Who,

From this ... um ... "interesting", I suppose you'd say, RPG from the 90's, Thousand Arms, this is the theme that plays when you visit the hometown of the main protagonist and his childhood crush Mil Wind. I mention this because Mil Wind is the greatest and cutest woman of science in all of RPG's who also has the best fashion sense.
