been going through it for 4-5 years, I get the hot flashes, night sweats and can get moody. I hate it:bbrr:, my mom got it for over 10 years. It's something God gave us, the only thing that helps is black cohash vitamins or soy vitamins. It is no fun,but I am just about at the end now!

I don't know if I am or not....I know that sounds weird! I had to have a hysterectomy 3 years ago (they left my ovaries) but then with my other surgeries these past two years we don't know what is causing what. Am I overdoing or is it hot flashes etc. Is my mood the medicine or is it not? I think my mom said that she was pretty much done by the time she was 47.....so I'm hoping that is what all is going on with me.

I have been noticing lately if I am stressed, the hot flashes are more frequent.
I noticed when I quit eating meat, or way less meat, and started using a natural progesterone cream I went from having frequent hot flashes to none, absolutely none, stress or no stress.

Yes. And spicy foods, hot foods, and coffee can trigger hot flashes. Now that I don't eat much meat I can have these things and not get the hot flashes. Plus, I have no arthritic pain.

I'm not really sure coffee helps anything other than mental alertness, but even that comes with a price. I don't do very well if I drink too much coffee. It does have its side effects, like messing with the ph balance of our body. That's the biggest problem I have with it. It causes our bodies to be too acidic, which is a breeding ground for disease. Coffee contributes to incontinence, stress, nervousness, irritability, and who knows what all else depending on each individual.

I gradually increased my coffee intake this past winter when I was working a lot, and the pain in my knee became almost unbearable. What's more, I had an overall sense of "unwellness". Something was terribly wrong, I don't know what, but I was feeling terrible. As I prayed the Lord showed me to cut back on coffee and increase fruits and veggies by juicing more. As soon as I did I began to improve rapidly.

What does coffee help? Anything having to do with menopause?
