  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Grady.......do you honestly NOT know how embarrassing your views about evolution are to your denier mates...?

what is embarrasing?

it is your lack of evidence.

Evolution is not even science, nor is it a theory even.

according to the scientific method.

how much of physical anthropology focuses on plant life, answer that question.

More than you would think; the study of the pea plant is what lead to the establishment of ideas about recessive and dominant genes. The advent of agriculture, which allowed for the establishment of organized human society, relied upon plants. Bad weather killing the crops and causing horrific starvation fueled the French Revolution and many other conflicts. The first cells observed under a microscope and well documented was from the cork of a tree. Plants are huge in the historical and scientific events of human history.

What humans can and cannot eat, why we cook food in different ways, the herbs and spices used to both cover up the taste of partly rotted food as well as those which attempted to preserve it; the first working medicines; all have a relationship between the physiology of the human body and plants.

We don't lack evidence, we just aren't sure if we should try to really show it to you. You seem like the sort that is going to bring up a bogus religious site on evolution and not even read our sources or one that is going to try to say that your idea of evolution is somehow more correct than what evolution actually is.

If your idea of what evolution was was true, I wouldn't support evolution. The fact of the matter is that what you think evolution is is so wrong we aren't quite sure how to approach the subject. Are you willing to at the very least read what evolution is and look at our evidence through the actual theory rather than your incorrect version of it?

did life begin in a primordial soup or what?

if so how did that occur?

That isn't a question evolution is meant to address; evolution only describes how life changes over time, not how the first life got here. You can believe god placed the first microbes on earth and left them on their own or even guided the changes; evolution is cool with that, it doesn't contradict the theory.

Was I acting undignified? I wasn't meaning to.

no some of the others,

but what I am confused about was how we have apes and humans related but no transitions. After all they are different genus, so a transition would be nice to prove they at least evolved one from the other.

and yet you retreat to something totally off the subject, plant life.

shouldn't a basic human evolution have transition?

Simple diversion tactic.

There are tons, actually; you wouldn't believe how many have been discovered. There are dozens. All with various levels of ape and human traits.

Your opinion, or should I say, an opinion needed to satisfy a need, while also requiring to ignore mountains of evidence.

But hey, whatever works for you.

Didn't Mendel fake it?

Nope, and you can repeat the experiments, as so many others have, to show he didn't.

The problem is that when you look at the likelihood of observing his data, that the test statistic is so high that it falls in the right hand tail of the sampling distribution (chi-squared). This is very unusual for testing stated proportions.

sure it is , it's called chemical evolution as opposed to biological.

I understand, then stop debating evolution.

I don't think he faked it as much of his work has been often replicated. I did read that there were some statistical issues that might indicate a little fudging which were reported as far back as 1911 by Fisher.

Over all when considering that he published in a very obscure journal, obscure enough that his work was not discovered until after his death, I might doubt that it was a deliberate act but possibly one of omission or error if there was a problem

The best I can tell is that it is an interesting question with no real impact and the jury seems to be out on it.
